I agree, but this was intentional. My buddies brother didn’t like us partying at their house.
I never said 150k people died from “protests”.
There is actually good news on that front, so far only 30 people have died from the GF “Protests” and the number has not jumped in a while. I fear that recent escalations in tactics may result in more deaths, but at this time it’s holding steady at 30. That’s still way to many.
That’s the point above all others.
Let’s not forget this is China’s fault. Taking off the tinfoil hat, I am willing to say it was deliberate, but I don’t have proof of that yet.
But China and the way CCP handled it, is the main reason it was a problem at all. If they were honest upfront the virus could have been contained. Instead they maliciously lied every single step of the way.
No, it’s not.
The MAIN point is the one that I just mentioned–we were on the ball before it got to our shores. We tested, traced, isolated. We listened to the experts from the beginning. We did exactly none of that this time. China essentially handled it about the same (deny deny deny, save face, etc.). This is yet another reason why the Asian countries were better prepared this time–they got the run-around from China last decade, and they paid for it.
The other point that I didn’t mention is that SARS is about 4x less contagious than covid. So is Ebola.
Are you kidding me? You’re anti lockdown and presumably anti-mask yet covid has killed 700K people worldwide and 150K + in America. THIRTY people have died from the protests and THAT’S too many?
I don’t know how to respond. That’s really terrible man. I’m sorry
Personally speaking, I’ve never gotten the allure behind painkillers, I suppose that’s in part because of how I react to them. I have chronic, at times disabling pain and thus a script for painkillers to be taken as needed. I very rarely take them because they make me very, very, very nauseous (I’ve thrown up in response to taking them). I’ve tried quite a few different opiate based painkillers, it’s all the same.
They screw with my cognitive faculties, they make me constipated if I take more than one dose, they make me dizzy, they don’t give me euphoria (more like dysphoria) and they knock me the fuck out.
Opiates are nasty, insidious substances, I’ve seen them tear lives apart when abused. There’s a decent book about the opiate epidemic in America called Dreamland, it’s decent read if you’re into reading.
It’s been water under the bridge for a long time, and just another shit sandwich in a looooong line of them.
Different people have higher affinity for these things. I get an extraordinary response to them. The realization that I was high when I woke up after my heat attack was kinda scary, but also like “Hell Yeah! Morphine!
”.
My wife is entirely indifferent to it though and also finds it unpleasant.
Yeah, not that I’m not into reading, but I’ve seen it play out in real time with so many people that I’d rather not read about it. It’s already very real to me. I’ve lost a good hand full of friends, my next door neighbor is a dope fiend, etc., so it has gotten enough of my attention.
Yes all you guys listening to doctors look retarded! You should be like me and not listen to them and look like a genius!
Sans-mask, sans-brain. You don’t need to tell us things we already know. You just keep injecting yourself with powerful drugs you haven’t seen made in unregulated industries and call everyone else idiots.
Good joke. There is no such thing.
Yeah, pretty much exactly.
No, just incompetent leadership.
If there were ever an illustration that the choice of POTUS really, actually matters, it’s this…
When a country can make Italy look like Germany, there’s a problem.
So, only 30 people have died from violent protests, billions of dollars in personal wealth lost, hundreds if not thousands of lives destroyed and you’re trying to tell me, that the government should violate our civil liberties indefinitely, but allow the riots, which also spread covid and have only killed 30 people are fine?
You do not see any flaw in that logic?
So long as Trump is removed from office, they believe that logic is perfectly acceptable.
I wouldn’t make any clear definative statements on “who did it better” while it’s still going on. Japan was lauded for it’s strategy and then cases spiked, India was lauded for it’s response and cases then spiked, S. Korea who was a model for the world had a resurgence. Quite frankly we really do not know who did what right. Japan had a completely different strategy than India or S. Korea, but had similar results. We can report the score during the game but we don’t have a winner until the game ends.
Also, we have no idea how wide spread this is because testing across nations is vastly different and there is no scope equal to the U.S. in terms of number of tests.
By metrics alone the best country is N. Korea who has 0 reported cases and 0 deaths from covid.
Further, China’s lies and prohibitions prevented from anyone handling the virus like others were handled. It wasn’t for lack of trying, China refused to let anybody in to help and they were more than happy to let it spread.
TDS - cut your nose… Rather cut your face off to spite your face…
Anything and everything is justified because Trump.
The obvious cure for covid is a Biden victory. Watch covid be magically cured if he wins.
Ok well it’s halftime and we’re down about 400 touchdowns. Is it ok to criticize the coaching or do we need to wait until the end? The score says our strategy and coaching has been horrific. But we can’t talk about it because you never know?
We can make some good guesses.
S. Korea has less than 15,000 cases in the country (of 50+ million). Japan has just under 50,000 cases in a country of 126 million. So “spike” is a relative term. I think it’s enough to say they did well.
I could have told anyone that India wasn’t going to last since they effectively have more than half the population in cramped, poorly sanitized, poorly surveiled areas. The upper class was probably monitored fairly well, but what are you going to do in all the slums? The answer is nothing. At least nothing so far.
I don’t think it is at all too early to draw conclusions if you’re doing it well. The overall incidence of covid in those countries–with comparable medical care-- is 35-50x LESS than ours. That’s well outside the level of “statistical noise”.
In fairness, we had 750,000 travelers into the US from China during Dec, Jan, Feb.
Potentially Infecting thousands of flight crews who potentially infected millions of unknown flyers for multiple week incubation periods.
It was you specifically warned us with the lilypad example.
Which was as dead on, as it was simple in in its explanation.
Great for Korea and Japan. We were deliberately hosed by China imo.
Old story.
