If you wear a mask, then I don’t. Hmmmmmm…
If you got a vaccine and I did not, the same premise would apply.

So choose one. You should feel protected either way.
I choose you wear one.
Stop deflecting, please. Answer the question: if you wear one and I choose not to wear one, are you not safe?
You can’t get covid vía the internet.
Apparently you can get stupid, though.
IMO, this is a good argument for the people who don’t want to wear the mask as it infringes upon their rights. Kinda the right to swing your arm ends at my nose argument.
I had a friend try to convince me with the size of the virus compared to the fibers of the mask argument. I mentioned that the virus is being transported by droplets. I think I actually convinced him on that one.
Self awareness is the first step.
Are you safe if you decide to wear a seat belt while driving? No, driving is inherently risky. The seat belt improves safety, but it does not make driving safe. Same logic applies with the mask.
But the CDC and WHO continue to posture about masks preventing the spread. So why would someone who is “masked up” be concerned about someone who is not?
Well, I wear my mask in stores, restaurants (patios) and the gym (really the only places I have been going). At the gym, I am seeing me, my wife, and one other guy who wears the mask. Everyone else is not. I believe that the mask is somewhat effective, but not perfect. If a good number of those other people get the virus, I believe my chances of infection go up even with the mask.
I think if we get to a certain percentage of people having it, that it will be hard to prevent transmission even with good precautions like the mask. Then if we get to that point, I have a feeling we will do another shut down which I do not want.
Yes. But they also say…
Because it lessens the risk even more. This is where internet PhDs try and be clever, and fail. No one said that the risk is the same if only one person wears a mask; it has always been stated that in order for masks to be effective, everyone needs to wear one. I know, it doesn’t jive with the Mensa FB meme crowd narrative based on something that no one said. I wouldn’t know how it feels to be wrong so I can’t console you in this moment of despair, then again, I’m sure you’re used to the feeling by now.
It was linked somewhere near the beginning of the other covid thread, if you want to look for it.
Which is a good point, and a reason why outside of places with a high number of cases there isn’t much use for a mask.
But the people on the TV said so, so it must be true.
My opinion is that outside of places like some parts of the US that have more cases than ever, mandatory masks are too late and not much use. In Canada we got the number of infections way, way down without mandatory masks, and while testing thousands of people every day, not only is the risk of infection incredibly low but the spread of the virus can be stopped without masks. It might have made a difference back in March or April, and could have allowed more businesses to stay open, but now when we only have 40-something cases in a city of a million and most are in nursing homes there isn’t anything a mask an do for you.
Neither are 100% effective.
Jesus Christ if stupid is contagious over the internet everyone reading your posts is fucked.
With the amount of gear you take you should really be getting labs done regularly. But we can’t trust those big government numbers read by big government doctors stuck into your arm by a big government nurse all who drove to work on a big government road. But they may ask you to sit away from someone in the waiting room and most of those places are requiring a mask so why do it period? Honestly wearing a mask even for 5 minutes at the gas station is exhausting and you shouldn’t need to do it.
I do get labs performed regularly, you dolt. And I don’t take ridiculous amounts of gear.
I didn’t say you took a ridiculous amount of gear. Everyone should get bloods regularly that runs though. But not sure you can trust any medical people with the bullshit they are saying about how Covid is real. I reject Covid, Faucci, the Civil War, and herpes.
“With the amount of gear you take, you should really be getting labs done regularly”…translates to…“You take high and/or ridiculous amounts of gear, therefore, I implore you to get labs done regularly.”
You translate that but you can’t translate what health professionals are asking during a pandemic? Maybe it’s just a language barrier.
The same people who threw hissy fits that you can’t smoke in the library. Muh rights!!!
