When Does a "Fake" Pandemic Become "Real"?

I am almost sure the bar appreciated your business, but at the same time, doing small things like wearing a mask isn’t bending over and handing the government the lube.

Maybe it is a false dichotomy, but if high compliance of mask wearing means the economy stays open, or low compliance means another shut down, then I am all for wearing the mask.

Yeah i know. A buddies family owns a bar and they haven’t even bothered opening for takeout food because the profit on their food isnt worth the cost of reopening. Theyre lucky that they own the place and dont pay a mortgage or lease.

How so? Please, expand upon your rhetorical question.

Why? How does that help anything? If they are concerned about business profits then they should consider that eating could reduce ho much you will drink.

I am wondering if the salt content of the food makes one want to take in more fluid to dilute it.

Its to prevent drunk folks congregating at bars. They want people to have a burger and beer. They dont want folks to have a few pitchers, 2 shots, and have a crackin’, crowded bar scene where viral spread is likely.

It doesn’t do a damn thing. Many questions come to mind regarding this. Cuomo can’t walk and chew gum at the same time.

  1. What if I want to go into a bar and drink but I am not hungry? Why must I be forced to order food if I want to drink?
  2. What constitutes “food”?
  3. Eating and drinking outside is perfectly safe, but if you wish to drink inside, food must accompany it.
  4. Why would you put already struggling businesses into even more financial trouble? This new “law” simply causes more problems and grey areas.
  5. Bars are going to have to hire additional cooks, for possibly a lot longer hours, in order to fulfill this madness.

I don’t drink, though I have no problem with people that do. However, what if someone gets a lot of joy from getting rip roaring drunk? Now you’re trying to regulate how people have fun. This is the definition of insanity.

says the poster who can’t wear a mask and do anything at the same time, lol.

I simply choose not to.

lol.

Do you love the government?

No, i’m libertarian at heart. But unfortunately, with less govt we need more responsible people. And folks like you prove the point that we need govt. Because faced with facts, science and logic, you continue to brag about making poor choices for yourself, and those around you.

All I know is if I’m having a couple of drinks and then I eat a plate of food I don’t feel like drinking anymore. Especially not hard liquor, I could still drink a beer but liquor wold just be gross right after a meal, or worse with it.

Just order the cheapest thing on the menu, like a side order of fries or something like that, and don’t eat it.

I would personally just stay away from bars and restaurants for the time being due to all the bullshit. Over here in most bars you need to make reservations to get in, and you aren’t allowed to talk to other people in the bar/restaurant either which is ridiculous. Better just drink at home if that’s what you are going to do.

It does. A lot of the uptick (at least in Texas) was due to people going to bars. Seems to me that Cuomo is trying to prevent that, without closing down restaurants. Therefore, if you serve food you can still have people sit inside to be served. Seems like the bar you went to managed the situation just fine and there weren’t a lot of people congregating inside drinking. Pretty straight forward.

The lemmings will be all over this one. StOp ThE sPrEaD!!!

If you arent washing your new mask before putting it on, that would be a problem.

You don’t think multiple people will try masks on and then return them to the display because they didn’t like how it looked?
