What's Your Floor Press vs Bench Press 1RM?

There are 2 ways to do floor press:

  1. With Bent knees, you can use “some” leg drive, and you can cheat a bit with raising your ass
  2. With Leg extended, here you cant use leg drive, and you “isolate” upper body even more.

I prefer the second option, with split second pause and “relax” on the floor.
My floor press is 402,5lbs and my bench is 420lbs. So ~95% of my normal bench 1rm, and at the floo,r bar is about 1inch above my chest.
And I think it shows that I have to work on leg drive on my bench press.

Because floor press effectively removes lower body involvement and leg drive in the same way that leg press removes upper body involvement. If bench isn’t his main focus then this is the wrong forum.

I’m not saying that you shouldn’t use floor press at all, but without actually benching your technique will suffer. The setup is totally different, and while you may be able to push with your legs it is totally different than effectively using leg drive when you are benching. As far as being weak at the bottom, that is normal and floor press only helps with that if you have short arms and a thick upper body, otherwise it’s more similar to a board press. There are plenty of other exercises that help with the bottom end of the bench press, such as long pauses (2-3sec.), dead bench, pin press, wide grip bench, and so on.

Here’s a clue, dickhead:

How does this affect you personally? He didn’t ask how arm length and torso thickness affect the floor press wither and you seem not to take issue with that. Why not? Is there a new rule on this forum that we are only to speak when spoken to and add no additional commentary to our responses? You seem to have an problem with me for some reason, but all I have seen from you is idiotic comments and pointless arguments. Your opinion means nothing to me, and it looks like you have nothing constructive to add to the discussion.
