I like Bushmills Single Malt a lot.

Lately it’s Bowmore Legend (Islay, single malt). Inexpensive (~$22 a bottle), easy to find, and a nice peaty flavor.

I doubt you can get a bottle of Bowmore 10YO for $22USD which is around 12UKP. However it’s a nice whiskey, in particular try the Bowmore with some dark chocolate you will not be disappointed with the taste combination.
I don’t have a favourite whiskey, rather I have about 15 favourites all Scottish single malts (standard!). Depends on my mood which one I drink, hell of a week at work and it has to be something with edge like Talisker, Lagavulen or Laphroiag, if it’s just a social drink then Old Pultney is a nice smooth bottle with a taste of sea salt or even a Glenlivit which is an easy drink. All neat with a block or ice or a little water shizzle!
Laphroaig for me. It is like someone has been able to liquify smoke and add some alcohol to it.

This is some good shit.
I know, because I’ve drunk some nasty stuff in my time.
It just reminds me of what the Fat Man once said in a song long ago.
Whiskey and bad cocaine
Poison gets you just the same
And if that, that don’t
Get you soon
The women will
Down at the Spanish Moon.
