I've seen a few people on this board refer to mercola. I must ask what for? I looked at this site, and my first impression is that he's a paranoid retard. His anti-aspartame ranting seems to be a representative sample of his "work."
Well, maybe he is just a doctor who realised how full of shit most other doctors are and is not into the let’s-get-the-drug- industry-richer-than-it-is thing.
Mercola helped me a lot. I’ll follow his advice over any other doctor or nutricionist any day.
Can you prove him wrong? How do we know that grain-fed beef is not bad for us? By most research I’ve seen, there’s a pretty strong argument to suggest that grass-fed would be much better. That’s just one example (can’t comment on the aspertame thing). I’m not saying he’s right about everything, but I think he turns up some pretty interesting and eye-opening studies. Just because the FDA says something’s not bad for you doesn’t mean it isn’t.
here in nz we have predominantly grass fed beef, with NO hormones yada yada yada
we still have the same health problems as the united states…
That was actually my initial interpretation of his writings a couple of years ago when i first visited his site but since reading his weekly newsletters each week for the past couple of years he does have a lot to offer. He’s quick to jump to conclusions on some things but I think he’s way ahead of most doctors on his nutritional recommendations. I especially like his take that sugar and high insulin levels are the biggest problems and cause more damage nutritionally then anything else today. He’s got a simple plan layed out in stages that even someone with zero nutritional knowledge can print out and follow and I’ve recommended his eating plan to several acquaintances with health problems.
