What's this Athlete’s Bodyfat %?

Yes that 10-15 pounds is my goal weight I really don’t like being under 200 every since I was able to maintain 210-215 for some time but my bf% was about 18-20% though I didn’t watch what I ate,now I’m on a diet and trying to just reach that mark if 200-205 while being lean as my genetics will allow me and I’m 5’11 barefoot

Yea I’m starting to realize that.

When I went from 155 to 225 in 3-4 years I gained a ton is strength and weight tho my bf% was at 20-22% I cut down to 188-190 and was pretty lean I just ate clean for the most part didnt track calories or anything like that and did lots of cardio got back off track and went back up to 210 which was fine but I had gained some fat again

Now I’m back at 188-190 and want to get back to 200-205 but this time lean as I can be

Me in 2017 at 188-190

Me two days ago at 188-190

Lame lmao super lame come better next time

Hey it gets hectic sometimes

We’ll have none of that in a body fat thread.

Nah. I’d default to Stu’s estimate. He’s a practiced and credentialed coach and bodybuilder.

I’m a tree cutter and welder with heart disease. Why the hell would you ask me anything?

So why are you even in here commenting in the first place??!! Lmao get out

Nope. We’re super good friends now.

Got any recommendations for heart stuff?

You see, simply by virtue of me asking, you now owe me an answer.

Now tell me something smart and useful or get out.

It’s like this:

OK.

Given that those pics were relatively casual, I’m gonna say he’s looking at not greater than 12%.

Mid 11ish.

If he had perfect lighting, time to prep/pump and all of the good pro photo stuff he’d look excellent.

For Bledsoe in 2017/18 (when those pics were taken)? I would say 7-8%. I personally think people on here overestimate BF %, especially for a world class athlete.

That’s all I did is ask lol I didn’t come start no trouble or say anything crazy man just wanted an estimate

These photos were taken between 2016-2017. Again I don’t think he’s that low of bf% due to him being over 200 pounds and having no visible abs nor deep cuts or striations. Though I do think he’s pretty lean and looks good

Thank you very much I seem to mostly get 12-14% for him I still play ball so that’s why I’m trying to get a similar size

Yeah I’d say around 14 because I have deeper abs and striation on chest and delts and I still think I have work to do to get to 10%

I think you need to remember that there’s a big difference between the body fat levels that Competitive bodybuilders achieve, and an average person, or even a high-level athlete. Bodybuilders on stage, despite claiming all sorts of ridiculous numbers, are usually 5, 6 or 7%. I believe I said earlier that 10% is very impressive, and a lot of people don’t realize how lean it truly is.

Yeah. I would guess lucky number 13% but I don’t know much, never been tested myself, never been lean either

You gonna give SkyzykS what he was asking for tho?? Don’t forget. It’s real important.

Adjusted for a couple inch height difference, I’d say you’re close already.

You will also be dealing with different muscle distribution and whatnot, but those are like minor details. You’re already in the ballpark.

Not questioning your knowledge on this over mine, but where do these numbers that are legitimate come from? At the NBA combine and also with certain teams (the Miami Heat, for example), they will test for BF % and many of the players are in 6-8% range. Why would these tests, with all the resources the league has, not be accurate? Also, why would a BBer have a lower BF % than a professional athlete (sport-specific, I know)? Wouldn’t being very hydrated and full of glycogen decrease your BF, as would be the case for athletes%? Your pounds of fat would remain the same, but your total body weight would be higher.

I guess a better example of this might be for weigh-ins. A boxer or wrestler may go up 15+ lbs in 24 hours after the weigh in. During the weigh in, they will look much more shredded at, let’s say 150 lbs. If they are 10% BF at this time, they have 15 lbs of body fat. Twenty four hours later they weigh 165 lbs, but would still have that 15 lbs of BF. Their BF % would now be 9% (15 lbs out of 165) but they look less shredded.
