What's Ronnie Up to These Days?

Just what the title says…
I watched the chest+bicep portion of his “Invincible” DVD on dailymotion just now… He looks smaller (still thick as a brick, of course) and trains significantly lighter (i.e. 355x8 or something like that rather than 495x6+ on the bench if I’m not mistaken… Didn’t look like he had more in him either) and apparently at home? (I have no sound on this pc, so no idea what he was talking about in the vid)

There don’t seem to be any real news on his official site (or maybe I’m just a retard when it comes to navigating websites) either… Last I heard, he got into legal trouble with that whole speeding ticket thing etc.

There are talks all over the forums of him making a 2010 comeback…

Can be true if one takes a look at ‘news and events’ on his site on the right of the page just above the “light weight baby” shirts ad. It says his talking about a comeback plan at his seminar…

Can all be rumours, who knows?

Hm. With Kai Greene basically sporting an improved version of Ronnie’s physique, I can’t imagine Ronnie making a successful comeback without some drastic changes to his waistline, and perhaps some really crazy conditioning.

Oh well, a good comeback would be cool, of course. I just hope he doesn’t get injured trying to get back to his former strength…

Agreed. It will surely pull some crowds. At age 45 he will have to be carefull indeed…

He had a interview with Dave Palumbo a few weeks ago. Said his strength was about 40-50% of what it used to be.

What do you mean by this? ie. How would he make drastic changes to his waistline?

Whatever Cutler did, and multiply that by 4…
Use less insulin, do some transversus work, maybe change his contest diet so he won’t end up bloated or I don’t know what…

Ronnie did some awesome things with the human physique. That being said, I never liked his massive look, just wasn’t for me, although I think he looked great at 225. So a comeback at this point just seems silly to me.

Hopefully Ronnie continues to be an ambassador for the sport, makes some guest appearances, but never tries to make a comeback. It would be like Jerry Rice trying to make a comeback. Competitive bodybuilding is over to Big Nasty. He had his time, he’s one of the greatest, I love him. But please, it’s time to let go.

Thats because he has been lifting with SHITTY FORM all his life.benching with SHITTY FORM. curling with SHITTY FORM.

Sorry for the hijack, its just that I fucking hate people who ego lift to claim they lift more than they actually can.

SHITTY FORM.

Ronnie has nothing left to prove. 8 Sandows is enough for anyone and I don’t see any of the current crop of pros being as dominant for a long long time.

That being said, I’d like to see him in the public eye. You can never have enough vitamin R in your diet. A charismatic, downhome personality like his is exactly what bodybuilding needs. Reality TV anyone?

Ah! That must be the reason why he never accomplished much. I mean, Ronnie boasted sub-par size and an all-too-familiar frame. I’m sure that you’re bigger than Ronnie and could convince him that perfect form - even if at the expense of heavier lifts - has been the crucial element to your superior physique.

Sorry, but you missed the sarcasm. Don’t worry though, tribunal won’t be a d-bag about it.

I thought I heard him say in the post Olympia interview with Palumbo that he was considering doing a show next year (not the O) just cause he wanted to get back on stage. He also said he needed to get his strength back up (to get the size that goes along with it) and he had been traning at home but was going to start going back to Metroflex to train.

Who cares what Ronnie Coleman is up to. Bodybuilders are about as interesting as a Cleveland Browns’ football game.

LOL at the Ronnie Coleman Pac Man scene. I would love to see someone like him going off at the local arcade.

He looks a lot younger with the hair/goatee going on, too.

Dude is still definitely living the lifestyle, which is cool.
