Follow Goldberg’s prescription. I always thought 220 would be pretty difficult for me to get to at my height (6’2’') because I was afraid to eat enough and lift heavy. I’m cutting from 252 right now.
There are also some psychological factors at play in terms of which is more difficult. If you’re terrified of losing your abs, it’s going to be damn difficult to gain mass. If you’re terrified of getting small or losing strength, you’re going to have a very tough time cutting up. This is true no matter what your body type.
