I return bottles and cans for the nickel deposit. While the rest of you are eating your lunch and sleeping, I’m out there earning a living. I live in a state capital where there is a huge daily influx of workers, all bringing their soda cans for lunch. There is a hierarchy of deposit men. I’m on the second tier, which means that in the bottle mafia, i’m just one step below the bottle boss-of-bosses, (the bottle capo) and when he gets sent upstate, or has an “accident”, I’m gonna run the show.
