What Type of Lifting Do You Do?

Which of the below describes the type of weightlifting you do? (can pick more than one)

a) General Strength Training

b) Weightraining to enhance sports performance

c) Olympic Weightlifting

d) Powerlifting

e) Strongman competition

f) Beauty Building (sometimes referred to as “Bodybuilding”)

g) “Just want to get toned” lifting

h) Other (please specify, i.e. increase left arm strength so I can wank longer)

I would have to say A and F, which I prefer to refer to as aesthetic training as opposed to ‘beauty building’ and H, which I will say is to enhance health and extend life.

D

C

Right now, only D

I’m doing a little “F” to help build up muscle endurance (sets of 10+), more so for balance than appearance.

I dabbled in a little “C”, but never really go into anything impressive to say the least.

C,D

C - competitive WeightLifter. 4th in GB.

Koing

I am a) General Strength Training.

But with A you also get F - Beauty Building for free!

Whats the diff between A and F?

With (A) you nail women, With (F), you nail guys (or they nail you).

You’re right that Strength training makes your body look pleasing, but Beauty Builders qua Beauty Builders want that special Beauty Building look, presumably so they can look at themselves adoringly in the gym mirrors and impress the other boyz in the shower room and ask them cute shit like, “Hi sailor, new in town?”

Koing, I’m impressed. What class, etc? How long have you been competing BTW?

Hilarious!

My new theory of sexuality (based on entheogens observations):

Performing more than 8 reps in a set means you’re gay.
Performing less than 8 reps in a set means you’re straight.
Performing exactely 8 reps in a set means you’re bi.

I’ve a 1 to 5 rep guy so I rule!

LMAO

You went ahead and stereotyped bodybuilders as homosexuals so early in the thread(doesn’t it usually take at least 15 responses before we go there) there isn’t much else to say. You powerlifting bears just go ahead and poke fun and us sissys will go cry and watch Dawson’s Creek DVDs together with some Zima to drown our tears.

They don’t correspond to the letters you chose, but my training is based on GFH.

I’m gonna apply for a science grant to test my hypothesis!

Firstly I will have to prove I am straight so I’ll need some female volunteers…

No one understands the concept of humour anymore.

I used to train as A, but made the complete transition to C in the past year

a-b-f

I powerlift so I can compete in strongman stuff.

same need to implement a better C program though I found good gym might check it out once my finals are over-being sick and getting little sleep isn’t helping me getting any lifting done either-

I think for sports d and c are a must. Possibly just C but I like power lifting bench/shoulder days.

A

Unapologetically bodybuilding.

And ethnogens, don’t be jackass.

A and B. Was tempted to say H also, after I saw your description of it.

A
D (bench only due to L S1 injury)
H Like to play around with grip stuff. (which could be good for wanking or possibly dangerous- might rip it off!)
