same need to implement a better C program though I found good gym might check it out once my finals are over-being sick and getting little sleep isn’t helping me getting any lifting done either-
I think for sports d and c are a must. Possibly just C but I like power lifting bench/shoulder days. [/quote]
Yes. I love oly lifting. It is just hard for me to get rid of bench altogether.
D and E all the way

My new theory of sexuality (based on entheogens observations):
Performing more than 8 reps in a set means you’re gay.
Performing less than 8 reps in a set means you’re straight.
Performing exactely 8 reps in a set means you’re bi.
I’ve a 1 to 5 rep guy so I rule!

Excellent theory. I propose that we could create a form of therapy based upon this. If a gay man wants to become straight, he only needs to do heavy sets of Snatches.
A training with an F diet.
Most people do G training combined with a D diet.

There you go, eh?

OLYMPIC WEIGHTLIFTING!
nothing feels better than ripping up a barbell over your head
I’m lifting to enhance my sports performance but I’m kind of using it some powerlifting methods.
E with some “beach work” thrown in for good measure.
Lance
A & D. Would eventually like to train for arm wrestling, also.

Koing, I’m impressed. What class, etc? How long have you been competing BTW?

85kg class, walk around weight 85.5-86Kg but I can cut down to 83.5Kg and hit PB (116/142), 24 this month, 8yrs competiting, 3 weeks and straight in to my first comp with 35/45 @ 75Kg or so at 15 and a half ![]()
I lost 9months training due to a back injury. I only did pull ups and dips for 9months as vertical pressure on my spine hurt and rounding my spine hurt like hell, sciatica. Lost training time at Uni but I can train a lot now due to my current job. 8-9x a week ![]()
I came 2nd at the English Champs this year, 116, 142

Why not make poke fun at all of the other types of lifting then? Why just pick on bodybuilders?
Had your list read like this:
A) “Weakend warrior” (general strength training)
B) “Functional fool” (sports performance)
C) “Jerk-off” (weightlifting)
D) “Fat Bastard” (powerlifting)
E) “Everybody’s favorite moving buddy” (strongman)
F) “Beauty Builder” (bodybuilding)
G) “Cardio Bunny” (you know who you are)
H) “Professional Pudwhacker” (wanna get stronger to…well you get the picture)
Then maybe I’d buy that there wasn’t actually some truth to your joke.
In the words of the immortal Mel Brooks:

I am of course kidding (or am I?)
As far as what I do, I train to be bigger, stronger and better than I was yesterday. Whichever of the above categories that falls into I don’t really know. Probably D and F.
d
A, B, F
I train primarily for strength and aesthetics, but I am employing training ideologies of athletes. I think the key benefit to training like an athlete (especially in the novice/intermediate stages) is learning the essentials of injury prevention and prehab in order to lift for many years to come.
Didn’t know there were this many Oly-lifters. I always thought it was predominantly PL.
Oh, and C.
