Okay, so about a month ago I was doing one armed dumbell rows, and I stretched a little much at the bottom and felt something shift in my back, around the middle close to the spin. So I stopped. A friend said that there was a small bruise at the spot where I said it felt wierd. This has never really hurt, but its felt rather strange for the past while (like its puffing out, but I can never see or touch the spot) and its hindering my workouts. I am seeing a doctor this week, but this is driving me nuts. By the way, I haven’t done anything intense on my back for 2 weeks. Thanks.
I know you want a more detalied answer from someone but we can only speculate at best so my advice is to go to the doctor first thing Monday.
I would not go to the doctor because a lot of doctors don’t have a clue unless it is a good orthopoedic doctor. If you know a good chiropractor, I would go to him first.
The back is the largest muscle, but to me a great build back is very impressive for the simple fact if it gets hurts you are out of commission for a while and that sucks trust me.
My thought are either your back just popped releasing air, which hopefully thats it. and it may just be sore or if you were spread out and had bad form you could have a hernatid disc or even a disc slipped depending on how bad it hurts.
If I hurt my back its time for rest on a heating pad and ibprofurean and pray its nothing serious, plus I am a firm believer in stretching before after and during all my workouts try that.
I hope I helped and hope you get back in the gym soon to work for your goal.
KEEP LIFTING!!!!!
I have to disagree strongly with the guy who suggests that you go to a chiropractor before seeing a “REAL” doctor. If you really want some answers try to get in with a orthopedic back specialist. Going to a chiropractor will only drain your bank account. Good Luck.
