What sports are you in love with?

Why, were..or are you any good

Cornhole. Nothing better than hammering that hole with the sack. Just round after round, pounding it home.

That better be a sport,I’m kinda anti porn and don’t want to check. Stinking up my bandwidth bro. Why didn’t you say American football?

It does have a double meaning. Just having fun with words.

Its pretty much just a modern version of horseshoes.

I’ve always been into cycling- bmx, mountain biking. And wrestling, with various types of calisthenics and weight training thrown in.

Anything physical and moving. I’ve slowed down a lot after a heart attack & heart failure, but I’ve always been pretty good with anything I’ve tried. Not like international/elite or anything, but good enough to have a lot of fun with what ever I was doing.

Never really liked american football. I was fast but way too light.

How old are you? My natural assumption after reading your hi-jinks,is you’re quite a young man but I was wrong if you’ve already suffered a heart attack unfortunately

I’m 53 years old. Heart attack was at 47.

Current level of strength and fitness is where? Height bw etc. How hard did it hit you. What caused it. We re same age group ,im a couple years younger. I had a bit of a medical done not so long ago,my resting is 62 and my blood pressure is on the high side of normal but nothing really doing. Not bad for 108 kgs. My heart rates gone up as I’ve gotten bigger from mid 40s per min when I was younger and smaller. I’m not in bad shape but I’m in that danger zone just because of age

Honestly, the shitter. 5’9" and just under 190 lbs. Strength is so-so. Stronger than many. Left ventricular ejection fraction at 36% as of like 2 weeks ago. I aint got no gas! Recovery is a motherfucker too. Weights & cardio take about 2-3 days to recover from. A regular day of work (welding/fabrication) takes about the same.

Knocked me clean into the next plane of existence. :skull_and_crossbones:. Very hard. There have been a few complications. Regrowth of blockage and a particular virus that was really popular a few years ago took down my lvef by about 10% each time I got it.

The circumflex artery was getting pinched between the left ventricle and atrium at the atrioventricular groove. Little bit of cardiac hypertrophy, genetics, etc.

If I recall correctly, the average age of first cardiac even is like 45 or something. I don’t know if thats world wide or population specific. It seems young, but in hindsight, I’d say its a good time to start looking into a cardiac work up, or general “see if anything is going on in there” kind of foray.

My blood pressure has always been very good. Stable at 115/75 or so. Resting heart rate was average.

Gas is the first to go. I’m even experiencing it now. Doesn’t help I’ve made it a mission like the tard I am to max as many exercises as I can on full stack but even 10 years ago,I’d do it and still have enough tank to still workout properly. Take it easy champ.

Will do. Thanks. Take care of that ticker too! There is no unfucking that kind of injury.

Almost forgot Snowboarding. Did that for a long time too. Started before you were even allowed at most US resorts.
Continued into my mid 30’s.

Me & kiddo a few years ago. I let him use it as a sled.

Strangely my strength is good in short bursts but I am skimping on leg and deadlift training where Ur recovery really does show up especially at this age. What’s next to go man, reflexes. Great.

:man_shrugging:t2:. Mostly slight neurological changes. Ballance, agility, kinesthetic sense. They start to diminish imperceptably, till one day they’re noticeable.

Totally right.

Still look relatively youthful.

Thanks. I’ve always been pretty athletic/healthy.

I’ve just had to change gears a little from new max efforts to longevity and cardiovascular capacity.

I’d layed off of cardio for a while cuz I got to busy with work stuff, but that needs to come back to the foreground.

Hockey. I learned how to skate and play on a pond in Maine as a kid, and I’ve loved the game ever since.

I’ll be 41 in March, and I’ll keep playing goalie as long as my knees will let me. Although, my current team is all college kids, so I’m feeling my age a bit and like the dad of the team.

The sweet science, boxing. I love it. By far the most entertaining sport to me. James Toney was/is my favorite fighter. Loved his style. Couldn’t hit him cleanly and he’d really make guys pay for letting their hands go. I miss when you could see good fights on regular TV or at least ESPN Friday Night Fights. Pay per view kind of killed the popularity sport. Pigs get fed, hogs get slaughtered. I boxed a little years ago but wasn’t particularly good. Just messing around training and sparring.

If we’re including motorsports, NHRA drag racing. There is nothing like the smell of nitro and the feel of a top fuel car going down the track. I was able to go to Bristol and Charlotte this year. Grew up going to Englishtown every summer.

Overall as I’ve aged I lost interest in sports in general, or at least don’t have the time I used to. I still watch some baseball (go Yankees) and some hockey (go Islanders) but the sport I grew up loving the most football, I don’t care about at all anymore. NFL lost the violence and it lost me as a fan. I haven’t watched a full game in probably 8 years. But really sports has taken a back seat in my life. Once I got married and had kids, it was over. I’ll get together with my friends and they talk about stats and fantasy and I just don’t get it.

Sports I love to do? Powerlifting.

We used to have pick up games on a pond too when I was a kid. And oddly enough my 8yr old daughter is into hockey, but we live in the south now. I got her a street hocket setup for Christmas.

The sport I was good at I never actually played above social level, but I played with national reps socially and the games were flat out serious and I could hang quite easily. Other sports I’ve played officially and was never quite as good. 1 sport in particular,it seemed all I had to do was make sure I made it to the venue and execute.
