Might retest Deadlift this weekend though. Back was still pretty fatigued from testing Zerchers Friday when I tested Deads yesterday and I wasn’t getting the deep breath that I wanted.
These are all probably low-intermediate numbers, if that. Incline and DL are nothing to write home about.
I like that you did zercher and deads same day. For me, nothing ggets me more in the mood to pull a huge weight on deadlift than doing a few sets of heavy squats. Putting weight on the back gets my fight mentality on!
Yeah. I actually like doing a squat bench dl max same day. It gets me so pumped up.
My squat is soo weak right now. But i am hoping to build it up. I wish i could get locked in like deads.
When i deadlift, i am in the zone in a way that nothing else exists. It is one of my favorite phenomenon
All of those are from the last month. I pretty much only train Bodybuilding style so the numbers are basically just a function of bigger muscles rather than something I’m prioritizing or chasing.
I appreciate it! I think it’s just 100% time, effort and genetics. I’m excited to see some of the numbers around here because there are some super strong dudes. This is basically my introduction to @KonsuTheTraveller but he’s clearly a mega Beast!
Yeah. This isnt a pissing contest, though we can make it that, lol. It is more a recognition of personal growth, and just to give some guys an idea of what their competition is doing.
I am competing with all of you, albeit in a friendly way. And anyone in Austin area is always welcome to come lift with me. I will say, it is a bit intense in my gym (garage). But in the best way possible
Between 2010 and 2012 did
Squat 507x1 and 405x9
Bench 315x5( not paused) best in competition was 331 with pause
Deadlift did 555x1 and 517x5, did 600 off the lowest pin but couldn’t break from floor
Overhead press 235x1
Weighed 250-260, age 26-28
Also did 575 squat with a suit/wraps and 405 bench in a bench shirt in training but was really inconsistent in competition, I would have been younger then 23 yo and around 240 pounds
Was always “natty” but never “a natural” if that makes sense lol
just really loved the sport
Since last year have done
Squat 315x8 do more like a high bar/olympic variation now
Bench 220x9
Trap bar 405x10
Overhead 160x9
Weigh low 240s now but trying to get under 220
40 years old
Working back towards new bench and Press PB currently. No idea if i’ll ever squat a PB again . Still feel like ive got a 660 deadlift in me somewhere one day.
Always found it interesting how people’s rep/max strength varies.
Where would you get stuck on deadlifts? I always had trouble with the start but rarely missed if I could get it started. The first rep is usually the hardest and the rest are better even though I never “bounced” reps but I guess there is some sort of stretch reflex that helps you.
Embarrassing though at meets sometimes I’d pull like crazy until my face turned purple but the weight wouldn’t budge
I started priotize stength more again in my training couple years ago.
Here’s my current PRs. Not great, not terrible (c) Anatoly Dyatlov.
Squat 5x441lbs, 1x485lbs
BP comp. pause 1x280lbs, Touch N’ go 5x254lbs
DL 3x518lbs, 1x562lbs
OHP 1x182lbs
Everything is moving nicely currently, and I’m expecting to hit 500 squat and 300 BP soon and 600lbs dead at some point if this goes on. I’m a weak presser, but as long as everything is moving up I’m satisfied.
