You are all a bunch of assholes. Jim Parrish is doing a great thing with his average joe system, I’ve done online consulting with him many times and he’s brought my strength numbers up significantly.
More weights = more lean muscle mass
This is the reason for the gear all the time to OVERLOAD the body. This makes the muscles do more work and gets them stronger. You also OVERLOAD the CNS this way making it superior to ANY other method known because every method does the same thing. Lift the weight over and over again, with Jim’s system he overloads CONSTANTLY with bands/gear which makes your CNS adapt.
The kids just need to eat a bit more and they will definately make even more substantial gains in strength and size. I really don’t understand why everyone is being so negative and hateful here, and as for Jim’s comments towards the kids this toughens them up mentally for the game…everyone trash talks during the game…Jim is bigger than all the other opponents so it will make them less intimiated and mentally tough towards trash talking…it’s all highly specific to sports, you know maybe if you guys gave it a shot you’d think different as well.

For Real?
What opponents? Last time I look the only person anyone should be competing against while PL is them selves and how the fuck does that “toughens them up mentally for the game?” sounds more like berating them to me. And these 110lb children do not need to overload their CNS they need stability and foundation to build on. And the guy cant even lift what he himself is doing, and there are WAY better ways to overload the CNF than using 115lb of bar weight and more bands than he can even handle.

That’s some brotastic broscience bro.
I think you need to reevaluate if your progress is because of his advice or in spite of it.
And putting them in gear doesn’t mean that their body will respond to the extra weight, it just means they get assisted buy the gear and can therefore lift more.

The type of training that he is having them doing is that WORST for them, they neec to be doing the lifts with a full ROM and RAW. They also need to be doing heavy assitance work to bring up their weaknesses. At the experience level of those kids they shouldn’t be doing stupid amounts of band tension, they should be doing straight weight.

Certainly. I’m just addressing the whole argument of “gear equals more weights which equals more muscle and strength”.

Oh shut the fuck up. 15 year old kids lacking a basic strength foundation shouldn’t be in double ply gear and fucktons of bands.

Dude, my hats off to you and the size of your balls for coming on to an open forum and defending this clown. He has said so many things that are dangerous, strange, flatout wrong, that defending the undefendable takes some guts. But seriously really listen to what he says and try to think about, I guarantee you will come to the same conclusion the rest of us has.

lol I will stop kidding around…I am JOKING of course when I said all that…this guy is a fuckin joke and the sooner someone can tell these kids straight up what they are doing they will be better off.
It just makes me sick because these kids have FAITH in this coach to get them to be better athletes/stronger and they are just going to get hurt. Seeing the stuff with the kids doing the squats with those pins made me very upset and I usually do not get upset about things.
I mean some of the kids could use a LITTLE bit of common sense I know when I started lifting I would question that shit.
It’s just over the years I’ve been reading/researching to find what works and what doesn’t and the best PRINCIPLES to go by to get the goals you want to reach and just to see these kids being SO MISLEADED and maybe them even preaching to others making this “system” spread makes me absolutely sick, and like I said I usually do not get upset about things. I just don’t know what to say to these videos…at first it was a bit funny…but it’s not funny at all actually esp. his attitude towards them…one of them needs to step up if he talks down to them like that.
Anyways sorry if that got anyone flustered about the completely SARCASTIC post I made, it is the internet and I was having a bit fun on this thread cause I’ve been on this site for years but really TRULY this guy has gotta go and someone’s gotta tell just ONE of those kids to tell all the other kids to get the fuck outta that place.

Sarcasm is hard to detect when you just go full retard like that. If I hadn’t seen some of your other posts and come to the conclusion that you’ve normally got your head screwed on the right way I wouldn’t have suspected a thing (but maybe that was the intention?).

Holy shit man. You put all the other wannabe trolls here to shame–you should start a damn workshop for that! Well played sir. Well played.
its funny that this coach doesnt have the BALLS to defend his own training ideas. The pussy has disabled any comments on his you tube videos. My guess is that his victims ( whoops I ment athletes … slip on my part forgive me) Might ask toooooo many questions when guys start posting negative views on the shit he does.Cant let a little free information get to these young guys and challege his views.

I agree with what you have said. The problem is most athletes are tought to not question there coaches.Plus they assumme that with all the numbers he claims that he has hit, That he knows what he is doing. These poor kids dont have the knowledge to smell the bull shit this guy is doing.
Yes that was the intention cause all my other posts are normal and this one was just the complete opposite of anything I’ve ever done haha. That post was hard to detect sarcasm because it DID go full on retard in that way lol. But yeah…thanks VTBalla…classes start on Monday lol.
bulldog I do fully believe that it is actually good not to question the coach, I mean I think an athlete is ALWAYS better off if he doesn’t have to think. The more he thinks and what not, the probability of it working gets slimmer because you question yourself.
If you have 100% faith and belief in what your doing and someone with KNOWLEDGE (smarter than you) is doing all that thinking for you it eliminates all that doubt and you just do the work to get the job done.
And like you said…poor kids man, I hope one of them find out it is bullshit and spread that word like a disease.
