I’m posting this here because I want perspectives from every training discipline (olympic, powerlifting, etc).
What is the perfect squat? What does it look like? What do you use it for?
Right now I’m under the impression that there is no perfect squat, and that all of the stance variables exist for different purposes. Thoughts?
You’re better off posting this in the Powerliting, Strongman, or Oly lifting threads. Th

This. There is not a perfect squat for Oly lifting, or for powerlifting for that matter. Why? Because everyone is different.

That is correct.
There is no perfect squat. There is the one that gets what you are doing done.
is there really such a thing?
high bar, close(r) stance, ass to ankles depth - olympic lifting
low bar, medium stance, hip crease lower than the top of the femur near the knee depth- ipf/usapl/etc
low bar, wide-stance, femur parallel with floor depth - apf/uspf/wpf/etc
I guess it’s whatever suits your goals/sport.
Going to sit on the toilet is a real squat.

Yeah, but it’s not a full squat… unless you like a wet ass.
