What is My Best Possible Bench?

Why? If you have the potential to lift more then why not do it? I don’t understand why someone would get into a competitive strength sport and not get as strong as they can.

Didn’t you say you’d never take PEDs?

Right after I posted that comment I immediately thought that someone would mention steroids or bulking to 400lbs, I’m surprised it took this long.

Maybe there’s a better way to phrase it, but that’s not what I’m, talking about. What I mean is that it doesn’t make sense to reach some arbitrary number (unless maybe it’s an all time world record) and say “oh that’s enough for me, I don’t want to get stronger” when you could just keep training and lift more. Drugs and gaining tons of weight are a different situation because that won’t necessarily make you more competitive, if you gain weight then you have to compete against bigger people who lift more and taking steroids is only an advantage if you can compete against those who don’t.

And before anyone starts another argument about gaining weight, this is a sport where you need to be fairly heavy relative to height to do well. There are some exceptions, but if you aren’t carrying a lot of muscle and your lifts aren’t anywhere near elite then gaining weight is a good idea.

what do you think is the least amount of weight id have to be to bench 405 natural at 5’10?
As I said, right now I’m at 187lbs benching 275lbs. Im late 19.

I think you’re overthinking this tbh.

Just focus on getting stronger in all the lifts, as well as hitting a 3 plate bench.

You have loads of time to progress & you’re already doing pretty well when it comes to the bench.

What is your squat 1RM just out of interest? I noticed when I my squat got stronger, my bench increased as well.

The last time i hit a Squat PR it was 155kg / 341lbs. I’ve been running a few Wendler Cicles since, so I’d hope its around ~160kg/352lbs right now.

You’re asking the wrong questions, how much you can bench at what weight depends on a lot of things and height is not one of them. There is no way to answer your question that isn’t complete bullshit.
