What is Brett Favre Thinking

Favre was going to be the first player on the cover of Madden AFTER retiring. As a lifetime Packer/Favre fan I was able to console myself after his retirement with the fact that he wouldn’t have to deal with the ‘Madden curse.’ If he does play, at Green Bay or anywhere else, he liable to get hurt.

Favre is destroying a lot of goodwill that he built up over his career. He’s handled this whole situation terribly and the Packers are in a lose/lose situation.

Packers are a legitimate Super Bowl contender with Favre under center this year but what about after that? If Favre comes back this year then Rodgers is out when his contract expires. Rodgers is ready and, despite being injury prone, I want him to stay with the Pack. This whole thing is fucked. Fucked.

what is most disappointing to me is that as a life long die hard Packer fan, I don’t want to think about the business end of football.

Jesus God, let him go to Chicago…Even though I would love to see the Cheeseheads squirm if that were to happen, I do believe the world would implode.

Da Bears.

…are douche-bags. Get that Chicago shit out of here!

I hope Favre decides to accept this proposition to keep his ass retired. I’m ready to see what Rogers / Brohm has got.

Despite a losing record, who did da Bears whoop up on last season, twice? …That’s right. The Cheeseheads. Case closed.

You have a great point there. All shit-talking aside, (but not really,) I’m excited to see Chicago’s stacked offense next year. They just have so much talent in the QB, RB, WR, FB, and TE position (Greg Olsen… still undecided on him.)

At least they (THE Bears) finally stopped jacking around and made it a priority to sign their best player again.

I don’t think many people are surprised that Brett unretired. He’s flip-flopped for 3 years now, so when he announced his retirement so early in the offseason, it left open that window for him to change his mind - which he did.

Green Bay obviously reached their breaking point with his flip-flopping and moved on with Rodgers (who’s handled this thing like a trooper so far). Remember, Green Bay asked Favre to unretire 3 weeks after he made his decision. He said he would, then said he’d stay retired. What’s GB to do but move forward?

So now he wants to come back. He is entitled to that. Green Bay is also entitled to do with him what they want, as they have him under contract for 3 more seasons. It’d be a terrible business move to release him. So, either let him sit and bring him back if/when Rodgers gets hurt, or trade him to a team outside of the division.

Personally, I don’t care what happens, as long as this story goes away. The NY Giants have been completely ignored this offseason (aside from the Strahan retirement and Shockey trade), despite being the defending Super Bowl champs. All this speculation stuff is beyond annoying at this point.

  1. Of the entire NFL, why are the only people the packers looking at to trade with, within their division? Cause everyone else has a QB already or what? Bull shit.

  2. He’s going to pull an E. Smith and piss off all his long time fans if he goes somewhere else when he should just retire.

  3. What’s it tell you when a team who’s loved you for how fucking long, is about to retire your jersey, you’re a hall of fame guaranteed QB, doesn’t want you back? I mean, the coaches know a thing or two about football… He’s a little luckier than his emotional fans want to admit.

  4. Stop being a fucking cry baby and half retire every year, then finally retire and cry, then cry cause they don’t want you back.

  5. I don’t understand the filthy packers play here either. Release him or trade him are your options. But I’m only hearing about Minnesota and Chicago. Why in the fuck would you do that. Give him to an AFC team, maybe they’ll learn how to play football.

I like him, but this whole situation and all involved parties are fucked.[/quote]

he’s going to get a ton of cash, that’s what he’s thinking.

I say let him compete for a job, and shop both of them for the best deal. Rodgers could draw some interest but I am thinking that it is just wrong that he is not able to compete for a job .

Yeah, agreed. We’ll see though. It’s the Bears, they aren’t particularly known for making smart decisions. I think they made a big mistake getting rid of Thomas Jones to the Jets. With what they have left they still have some running talent.

QB has been and should be #1 priority as any self respecting football knows what a disaster that has been. Lovie said, “Rex is our guy.” Then it was “Griese is our guy.” Now its “Orton is our guy.” …Time will tell with that team.

The whole situation is ludicrous. There is no excuse for his behavior. But the bottom line is that he is still performing. It makes no sense that they are willing to shell out that kind of cash for him to sit on the bench.

There really must be some bad blood there and shit they are not reporting for them not to suck it up, deal with all the bullshit and have him play until he’s no longer an asset.

Oh please no. I have invested so much time hating him as viking fan. It would be really strange to see him in purple. As much as I would like to get rid of Tavaris, I just don’t know how I would feel watching farve as a viking.

I don’t know why he would want to come here anyway. We are running team with shit recievers.

Imagine what kind of running team the Vikings could be when defenses need to respect the pass. No more eight and nine men in the box. Besides, Favre has worked with shit receivers for most his career. Nothing new there.

True. I am sure farve would look past the receiver situation with a great running game and arguably the best defense in the league this year.

Damn it. Now you have me thinking about farve in purple.

Well now that he is reinstated…he is gonna regret the decision. He is gonna ride the bench all season and be a pissy old man

He wont ride the bench, but they are pretty fucked if he stays say goodbye to rodgers. They just need to let him go…so he can dominate with the vikings.

I just hope the vikes know that they hold all the cards and don’t give away the farm to get him. They would have to plan on only getting one year out of him. The vikes do have a history of bad trades.

Like Herschel Walker?

This is like a god damn soap opera.

As a Wisconsin native I can finally come out and say it without having an angry mob after me: I never liked the guy/thought he was overrated anyway. I hope he sits on the bench all season.

That was the worste. Maybe in NFL history considering who the Cowboys got with our pics. We also gave away half our defense. There have been others along with a bunch of draft day mishaps and bad pics.
