As a lifelong die-hard Bears fan, I’m not really suprised at what they did. I think Cutler is a good QB, but not what the Bears needed most. They NEED to rebuild their O-line, seeing as half of them are drawing social security by now…They usually only make good use of 1 or 2 picks a year, so the picks are irrelevant in my book.

the bears are really making a huge mistake by getting cutler…hes a good qb dont get me wrong but they really gave up too much…they coulda saved atleast 1 first rounder since orton was thrown in…before orton got injured last year he was on a roll and is comming along nicely for being a later round draft pick a few years back…and the bears signed orlando pace…
hes not going to have that much of an impact but any body is better than what they currently have and he can help shape the younger tackles on the team…but now they gotta be smart with there picks and draft a good tackle or db in the second round…either way forte is going to carry this team an i doubt jay cutler will like that…he can go cry an say sorry to the broncos because he wont be seeing a pro bowl anytime soon…

I’m leaning the Bronco’s got the best of this deal. I think Cutler has one of the best arms in the NFL, but he makes to many shit reads…I read his interviews, he comes off as an arrogant guy that hasn’t had to work hard much and I think he is lazy in the cerebral part of the game. JC isn’t going to have the WR’s in Chicago that he had in Denver and the CB Oline isn’t as good in pass pro as the DB’s.
From the Bear’s perspective I think so much of this depends on how Pace comes back from the injuries and if the CB’s can upgrade WR…or have someone on the bench ready to contribute.
I think this trade is why Shannahan was fired. I think Shannahan and Bolen went at it over Cutler…and the owner always wins. I don’t think there is any way Bolen hires Mcdaniel without knowing he wants rid of Cutler.

Campbell a bust? Hardly. Happen to catch the 1st 6 games last year? 0 interceptions.
Granted, I’m not saying he’s a HOF, but at this point in his career he’s progressing decently, much better than his 1st yr.

As a die hard Bears fan, I was initially excited about Cutler, but when I found out what they gave up for him…WTF!!!
That front office needs to get their act together. As stated before, the O-line needs adjustment. Signing old man Pace wasn’t too bad. Hester needs step his game up stop being scared to go across the middle.
But what can you do? I leave you guys with enthusiasm to say GO BEARS! But F**** that front office!
Cutler is a prime example that no matter how good of a quarter back you are, you can’t be a whiney bitch QB…WR’s like Owens can cry all they want but a QB needs to be more of a stand up guy.
But for Cutler I honestly think Mike Shanahan did him in. I think he built up his ego SO so much that he was ruined for anyone that wouldn’t kiss his butt and tell him how great he is all the time.

I think the relationship was ruined for a lot more complicated reasons than just Josh McDaniels wouldn’t kiss his butt. He lied to him and then remember what he supposedly said to Cutler in the meeting…Deal with it(summarizing). It didn’t sound like Josh McDaniels extended an olive branch at all, rather it sounds like he came in as a young new coach in a misguided attempt to lay down the law and appear in control.
However, I agree Cutler is also to blame, was a little to sensitive and took it here, but I also think that relationship was going to be a shit show this year if he stayed and it would have been lots of drama during the season that might have ended up with him wanting out at the end of next year. Just a conjecture but that relationship looked pretty broken.

Well, you’d have to go through Gus Frerotte and, gulp, Heath Shuler to get there.
Let’s play a hypothetical here… if the Bears can get to the Super Bowl with Rex Grossman at qb, what is possible with Cutler at qb? That’s the question the Bears probably asked themsleves and decided what they gave up to find out was worth it.
On the flip side, Denver finally found a Pro Bowl/franchise qb in the post-Elway era, and yet they decided to trade him away. Putting that aside, however, they did bring in quite the haul in the trade. They can easily trade their two 1st round picks this year to trade up and grab Sanchez. Sanchez supposedly fits McDaniels’ ideal qb, so they can let Orton and Simms battle it out in training camp this year for the starting position. Then groom Sanchez along till he is ready to start. In addition, they have an extra 3rd rd this year and 1st rd next year to work with. Denver has a lot of flexibility at this point and clearly bringing in such a young coach and trading away their franchise qb they must have some intent in creating a massive rebuilding phase.

yeah i did catch the first 6 games i had him on my fantasy football team he doesnt throw the ball enough and they dont seem to have enough confidence in him to make big plays
hes a good stand in qb to try an “Manage” games but hes nothing special…kinda sucks because in that draft i thought he was better than smith and rodgers…1st round qb an hasnt done enough yet next year will be his make or break year
