What is a respectable arm size

OK now I know I am cursed. LOL! I am 5’9" and 215 right now and can get down to a solid 195 with clean abs, although I feel like crap when I can see my abs. At 195 last time I dieted, my arms were 16 1/2!!! I have very thick legs and long skinny arms. I would trade big legs for arms any day. What I would not give for some 17’s or 18’s when I am leaned out. Hehe! Stingray and Preemo, I am officially jealous.

Hey whats up. A respectable arm size to the public i would sat would be around 16. But, if u want to impress other gym members u better be pushing 18 ripped to the bone. Im 17 years old and i have outstanding measurements. My arms are 17 and 1/4 with 5% bodyfat. I always get comments on how jacked i am. But i dont thing im big as to some of the monsters i know. I quess it all depends on who is viewing u. The public might think wow that guy is big and look at his arms. Other bbs might say ah he aint nothing. peace.

I don’t know about that freak thing. I love to do arms I blast the hell out of them.sometimes after I do arms it’s all I can do to open my truck door.

its impressive that you guys are below 200lbs and youve got 17 inch arms.im 180 at 5ft 10 and i ve got 16inches cold.also arms look thick only form the side from the front and back kinda look puny.whats the secret to getting them thicker or at least 17 to 18 inches

I believe that mass allways looks better on long limbs. Although im only 5’9 i have very long arms for my hight. Im 185lbs and around 8%bf my arms are 16.5 inch but people are all the time commenting on there size. I just cut down from 215 (gotta love Mag 10) and at 215 they were 17 inch. but look better now with less bf %

hey man. Well ill tell u how my arms got to 17 1/4. One thing before i say anything i am only 17 so i have a lot of hormones goin through me now that help. Moreover, i did start at around 14 inch ones though. I always start of with hammer curls. I believe they are the best for making the arms thicker and stroner. After that i would do standing curls or preacher curls. Then my last one is concentration curls. Thats all for biceps. Dont forget to do triceps!!! they are a larger muscle then ur biceps and therefore should be trained harder so they are distingushed from ur biceps. peace

some impressive numbers been thrown around. here are mine; 5’9" 203#s 8%bf, 16.5 inch arms, 25" thighs, 16" calves, 46" chest. Long armed also combined with the fact that i can’t fully extend my arms, meaning a straight arm forms an angle less then 180 degrees. I’d say about 160 degrees. Very hard to gain mass on arms considering where the muscle connections are, it’s like i’m restricted in getting full range motion. My goal is 215#s at 6%bf and 18" arms and with great proportionality. laters pk

Not being able to fully extend your arms could be a blessing of sorts. Mine go slightly over 180, so if I fully extend them on curls, I feel as if I lose tension on the bicep area. I’ve started to try stopping myself before full extension to see if that will help. It definitely is more challenging (no “cheating” by relaxing at the bottom of the movement).

what sucks about not being able to get full motion is that i can’t really powerlift, (ie. snatch or bench) because my arms will not fully lock out. I always have the muscle tensed. You might think of it as being a blessing but i don’t feel it allows me to get the full contraction on the muscle. laters pk
