well, i have a 70 cougar that until last year had the original drivetrain and was a daily driver. thats 36 years running strong. show me your corolla in 36 years. on gas, well lets just leave that one out. it cracks me up that everybody says imports run forever, but i see a lot of 30+ year old American cars driving around.

I feel for you with the shitty ford escorts, hambone. I drove a 99’ escort Zx2 before my new car and it seriously was like driving a clown car. Especially for a guy as big as you.
I recently bought my new car this year. 2007 Mazda 3, 4-door. I really wanted a truck, but I needed a commuter car because i drive approx 40-60 miles each work day and gas prices were killing me.
This car is incredibly spacious. Enough room to put 4 6’ tall guys in without cramped leg room in the back. Also the trunk is huge enough to fit like 10 dead bodies. 36 highway mpg if i remember correctly.
I got it for 13.5k after taxes and licensing and all the other BS fees. The trick is that there is normally a “leader car” that they put out in the papers every week. They always have like 1-2 cars of a certain model for a really really dirt cheap price to entice people to come in to the lots and check their cars out. It is a stock model with no AC and no power whatever. But you get it new at around 9k.
Thats what i would suggest.

I have a 2007 Mazda 3 as well, Galaxy Gray and every option but the nav system. Hands down the best small car I’ve ever owned or driven.

07 Toyota Tundra 4x4. The one pictured isn’t mine but same other then color. Mine is black with chrome dual exhaust, blk side bars, tinted windows. JBL six cd system that sounds damn good.

I really, really like the new Tundra’s. When I get a truck I will be looking into one of these.
1969 GTX, guzzles gas, but has torque like no other. I tried to resist tuners, but I’m starting to find a new love for them. Anyone with a 300ZX? favourite of all tuners. But you still can’t replace my love for working on my muscles.
a stock 97 civic coupe baby. I don’t place much importance on what I drive…don’t feel I need to make up for any shortcommings, as it seems many people do with their cars.
That will all change when I’m rolling in the dough, though. lol
Perhaps an Acura TL or BMW 3 series.

Perhaps you forgot to read this:
“I hardly maintain it because it doesn’t need much maintenance, and I could go on a full tank for 2 weeks of 1 hour city driving per day.”
Which is why I love it.
And wait. Is 14 years forever? Hmm, that must mean I’m older than eternity. BTW, You probably won’t see my Corolla in 36 years because from where I live, 20 year old cars are illegal.
Woohoo I just found a 2005 Subaru Legacy GT Limited sedan. 250Hp AWD, gotta love it. Now I gotta see if I can sell the xterra to buy it lol. Btw Spanish Fly I hate you, sweet car!

After the CT thread of the same name, and since I’m looking to buy a car, I thought it might be an appropriate time to see what the rest of the community drives and how they like their ride.
In my case, I have a shitty '95 Escort that’s stumbling around on it’s last leg. I’m looking to upgrade–won’t be to difficult looking at what I’m currently riding around in–and am planning on going the used car, under $10K route.
So lets hear it: what’re you driving and how do you like it? [/quote]
I remember when $10K or under used to buy you something with all the technology of a nail… Now you can buy a decent car (provided you shop around)… I know a guy over in America who is trying to sell a twin turbo Supra 97 model for exactly $10K … Why you ask? messy divorce and he is filling for administration… If you want I will try and hook you up, I dont remember where you are from but he is in the Boston area but moving to DC let me know
1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue. It’s paid for, and that makes it one sweet ride!
Actually, I’ve had this car for 7 years now and I had to replace the battery last month. That is the first thing that has ever been replaced, aside from tires, breaks, wipers and other consumables. I’ll probably drive thing thing until it blows up. Then buy something to make up for my lack of penis size.
Without futher ado…the new ride that inspired this thread: I just bought a 2001 Audi A4 Quatro, and the thing is stacked. Winter package, 6-disk CD, 2nd set of tires (snow tires), moonroof, alarm, iPod hookup, premium surround sound, and fucking gorgeous.
I also wanted to add–while posting an interior pic of the new car–that I appreciate the help on here. Also, some of those cars that have been posted are amazing, T-Nation definitely rides in style…I’m still jealous, but considerably less so now that I have the Audi.

Like I said… big-time Suby nerd here…
My wife has an '05 LGT Limited. I love driving that thing. Super comfy, enough balls to hand most cars on the road their ass. Great gas mileage by comparison, too.

Congratulations! I drive an A4 and love it. Mine is post-redesign (2005.5), but other than that about the same (quatro, moonroof, beefy tires). Except I don’t have an iPod hookup, sadly.
Anyway, I love everything about it. I’ve had it for two years and my delight in it hasn’t dimmed at all - I still get happy every time I see it.
