I don’t much care for comparing stats, but I wouldn’t be so quick to call all the young guys liars. The high school I went to had a great lifting program and more than adequate facilities, and I personnally saw in competition, one of my teammates bench 460, another clean 300, and my current roommate squatted 630 below parallel, all in HS all 18 years old or younger, I never saw a huge dead, but we really just used bench, squats, and cleans as our core lifts, my point though is that it can be done.
While it is possible, most of these posts sound a little improbable. The kids can always take a few pictures of themselves benching their max weights and post them as others have done.
Whether or not these kids can actually lift what they say they can, I think the older crowd needs to stop bitching. Just because your 450 squat made your head explode, or you think that benching 300 weighing 200 is pretty damn good, doesn’t mean that people younger than yourself can’t lift more. In fact there is someone out there younger than you who can do it, and legit. Are they on the forum? I don’t know, but stop crying. You’re making the place look bad.
Well here goes and they are so pussy weak they gotta be true! 39 yrs old today,“Happy birthday to me”, 20% fat bastard. Bench 200, Squatt 290, Dead 250. so to all you young bucks bring it on, LOL. The worst part is that I am stronger than most of the other old farty, softcocks who workout when I do.
It can be difficult to believe that some of the younger lifters can lift that much. I am a strength coach at a D1 school and have seen some pretty unbelievable 18yr olds come in. One in particular now has a max squat of around 650, bench of 375. He routinely cleans over 315 for fun. If I remember correctly I think he last benched 225 for close to 30 times. Oh yeah, he plays linbacker. I would hate to get hit by the guy on the field. His only downfall is speed, about 4.6 40. I have seen others like him. They are unusual, but it is not obsurd.
I wouldn’t be so quick to call these young fellas out as liars. I’m proof you can be young and strong, I was benching 390 at 17-18 yrs old, and squatting 400, and that was at a bodyweight of 205. I was also very poor and strongly lacked proper nutrition. So I have no problem beleiving that some of these younger guys can do what they say, because I’ve been there. The scary thing was, I was only the second strongest kid in school, there was some other dude throwing up 460, and while in high school my brother hit a 600 lb squat. If you bust your balls you can get those #'s as a kid. Oh yeah, no steroids involved…I was too poor to even afford supplements.
Benches a pretty silver olymipic bar with some grey weights attached to it down in his basement…it works for me. Each time it gets too easy, I add a few more of those grey weight plates. Is 31 6’5" and 257
if i was lying id make up a much bigger dead than 550 because i know guys doing that at like 190lbs
I bench a whopping 250!!!, and sqaut 365! and weigh an enormous 170 dripping wet.
to everyone who is tired of hearing about benching (I know I am) I can do a one handed squat snatch with 60kg on a barbell. hows that for an obscure lift that nobody every does. I probably have the best lift on this board by default. Not because of fantastical strength.
37y,187#,5’10",10-12%bf - bench 260 (failed on 265 recently). Lets see how these kids are in 20 years, after they’ve been thru 2 marriages, etc. I bet they won’t be able to deadlift themselves out of their recliners. Stay in touch.
Allright. For those of you who continue to post the “2-year old” threads, i say stop it, cuz you are displaying the humour of a 2-year old. It was only funny once, and I even doubt that. I’d like to say that most of you teens are full of it. Eddie I believe you because you weigh a stout 230. I, personally, am 17, 6ft, weigh ~155, bench 225 1 time slowly, ~6.5% bf with deep pockets called abs plunging into my stomach, don’t know what I squat but I’m sure its more respectable than my bench, do lots and lots of pull-ups, and I sometimes I smoke a cigarrete before doing ab work. Let me tell you, yesterday I went to Stamford World Gym and I met a powerlifter who benched 570 and he was pumpin out 315 with such ease as I pump the bar the guy was STRONG. He also trained WS style in front of me and I felt so honored when he asked me to give him a lift-off when he was doing 315 for speed reps of 5. This guy was amazing. If you’re out there man, KNOW that I think you’re the man and I totally respect the years of hard work that you’ve done to accomplish such superhuman strength. Peace-
Let me start out by saying, I’m not in HS, but I was one whose lifts could be called acts of freakery. I’m not going to sit here and list off all my lifts from when I was 18. Why? Because I know what I did, and I don’t need a bunch of people I’ll never meet to validate it for me. Now, all you older folks who are quick call these kids liars, please realize there has been amazing progress made in nutrition and weight training since the 70’s and 80’s. Plus with the right motivation anything is possible. I was lucky, I had a football coach who actually cared, and a group of friends that pushed each other… a little healthy competition. I’m not saying ALL these totals are legit, but if a 6’5" 250 lb 18 year old says he can bench 390 or squat 550, that IS plausible. I would be skeptical if a 5’6" 150 kid was making those claims, but I wouldn’t flat out call them a liar.
This is my first post here. I’ve been lurking for awhile and felt the need to respond to this.
I would wish that people would check out some official Olympic or powerlifting sites before they post crap like, “I’m 17, 200lbs, 7% bf, totally clean and can bench 450lbs”. If they were to look at real records,I think these people would see how rediculous these claims sound.
Btw, some of the stuff posted had me rolling on the floor. Thanx for the chuckle.
Okay, this will sound ridiculuos, but hear me out. I don’t do singles, so I don’t know what my max is, but here’s the stats – 37 yo, 5’11", 200 lb. Been lifting for a couple years. Classic ecto/hardgainer. Working weights – squat 220 for 10, bench 60 db for 11, dead 230 for 12. Kind of pathetic, I know, but they’re increasing slowly.
ok, guys, i’m 5’7-5’8 i weigh currently 275lbs, bodyfat, who cares, i’m huge and strong, thats all that matters. my bench is 545lbs, i don’t squat very often. thats not my specialty. i do bent over rows with 425lbs for 10 reps. i can close grip almost 450lbs. i can do seated military presses with 375lbs for a max rep. i can do straight arm barbell raises with 155lbs for 10 reps. In my opinion, you guy who are 230+ pounds who can’t even bench in the mid 300s, you should hang your head in shame. go build some damm strength will ya.
squeeze
i was going to comment but with all of the inflated egos in here there isn’t much room. chill out guys! you can’t prove anyone is lieing so why bother bitching???
Conan is right. There are some awfully weak sumbitches here. If you’re weighing in at what you say you do you ought to be benching a helluva lot heavier. These weights are pathetic. Train hard & heavy and stop the pumping bullshit!!
I’ll agree with Conan on one thing. That is, if you’re worried about max lifts, then who cares about bf%?! For my part, I consider it good if an adult can bench 2x their body weight. Example of what would impress me, hmmm… How 'bout a 23 y/o, 220lbs, 500 lb bench. Conan, I’d like to what 275lbs looks like on a 5’7 frame (yikes) lol.
I’m 19 years old, my height is 6’0 and 220lbs. my 1rm for the bench-press, is 315lbs, for deadlift 500lbs, and for the squat my max is 600lbs. This was done natural.
