3.) read more, follow the links in the threads above, read up as much information on diet/nutrition and training as you can
4.) Pick a solid beginner program, something like total body 3x week or maybe upper/lower split 4x per week, do some HIIT ~2-3x per week on non-lifting days
5.) Start.

No. Stop making excuses. If it really “doesn’t work”, you better call NASA because your metabolism seems to defy the laws of thermodynamics.
As long as your diet is halfway ok, you exercise regularly and get enough rest, it WILL work. 100%
Then the diet you selected was too harsh or too extreme and/or your will was too weak. Are you really determined to change your life ? You will have to put in some effort and it won’t always be easy.
Pick a good beginner program and follow it through
Eat often, small meals (6-8x per day, every ~2-3 hours)
get ~0.7-1g protein per lbs of bodyweight per day
eat some protein with every meal
eat a big breakfast with lots of complex carbs
don’t mix carbs and fats too often, either carb+protein or fat+protein
eat carbs pre and post workout
get enough sleep
‘real’ (not water) weight loss if quite slow (~1lbs per week), if you lose 1lbs of fat but gain 1lbs of muscle you scale won’t show a difference
…works for every human i’ve ever encountered
