Don’t get me wrong, I’ve done things the wrong way in the past but I think people undervalue sex in a relationship.

Instead of waiting till marriage society has flipped a 180 and encourages people to sleep with lots of people for the experience.

Have sex with them.
Live with them.
Get married (but it’s just a piece of paper, right?).

Try the first two to make sure you like them and want to marry them.

It’s all backwards.

The most important thing is that you’re whole when you enter a relationship. If you’re relying on the other person to fill a void then they can manipulate and control you…and cause you to stick around even though you’re miserable.

Yeah sex is easy. But I agree with J. I am not and never was just interested in sex. I want it all. I want the mind, body, and soul. I want a mate I can connect to on bad days hanging out, or someone I can throw a fry at…

Sounds like you need to find peace with-in before you will be healthy enough emotionally to trust yourself to pick out a mate…

So I realized something today that brought me some calmness . …

RE: My ex. sending me a dick pic straight off the bat and me not responding with any enthusiasm whatsoever .
He may have thought that because we haven’t done it since DEc. that I would be open to no strings attached sex with him because I would be missing it , or missing it coming from him so badly that I wouldn’t need any commitment . All I would need is a dick pic from him because of all the yearning I’ve been doing in his absence .

Except I wasn’t, and that wasn’t the case at all, and my response probably made him feel rejected . Hence why he then went full force trying to hurt me.
He sought me out to bang because HE missed having sex with ME . I did not miss having it with him.
All he got for his attempts was me calling him out for hurting me .
Zero swooning was done.
He wasn’t the one who was in control of this, I was. I didn’t end without dignity intact, he did.
So there, BRAIN SWITCH FLIPPED .

I also somehow wound up telling him about how I was in the bath watching Alanis morissette on youtube and I started singing along and thought that I sounded really good, but then realized I only sounded good in the bath and not in real life so my dreams of becoming the next Alanis disappeared before they even began really.
He just laughed. I wish more guys didn’t get awkwarded out by my super awkwardness . I think that’s why I have trouble when men . Because 0.000001 percent of the dudes I meet don’t get weirded out by my weird.

Maybe it’s a professional thing. I can have some weird conversations with my chiro who does ART. I think there’s a different level of comfort when people are touching you all over to heal your ailments.

There’s also a pretty decent level of trust from day 1. You trust them enough to work on your glutes based on their profession. You can’t do that on a first date :joy:

I’m glad you did what was best for yourself. Better than me. I usually don’t warrant stupid behavior with a response, because if I start to I get this heavy, hot feeling like there’s a cloud of heat around my head, and I will inevitably start shouting and yelling. And I get stupid when I do that. Espeacially if I’m standing face to face with whoever decided to anger me.

I had a nasty cold over spring break. I still trained like a beast, but when I came home I was too tired to update my log, LOL.
Then I started my new job and back to getting up before 4 also made me too tired to update my log .
I did squat 190 for 2 x 2 and military press 85lbs
oh and landmine press today for 30lbs x 6 * arm
Plus lots of other good stuff that excited me and then instantly left my mind, ha!
I have officially cut down to two leg days per week now that I’ve started work so that both terrifies and relaxes me. I looked up some single leg stuff to work on and I don’t understand why I can’t do any basic body weight single leg shit without falling over, like wtf is wrong with me? Does anyone else have this problem and how do I progress when I can’t even do body weight?
Also 130.8lbs so lowest I’ve been in months, WHop OP

Stand by a rack and use it for balance/assistance while you practice the single leg stuff. It’s just a new skill you need to learn. It’s also possible that your body is holding you back because it’s a new stimulus and it’s making sure you don’t get hurt.

The golgi tendon organ (GTO) will shut the muscle down when it senses too much stress. It’s our protective mechanism. In fight or flight situations the body dumps adrenaline which overrides this system and allows you to do amazing things (think of mom lifting a car to save her child). The downside is that you tear tendons and ligaments lol

Pretty sure that’s what happens to everyone of they’ve never done single leg work. It’s normal. Right now progress is doing it bodyweight without falling over. Next is adding weight. I’ve found it’s something that progresses rapidly as long as you keep at it.

Btw single leg stuff sucks, I’ve tried it a couple of times, and find myself humbled because I cannot do it.
