K I wish I didn’t have to say this, but days without incident is ZERO

I was fine with my bench press when I was doing it yesterday, but then after I got home I started having a panic attack about the crooked-ness, and then it got super intense and it lasted for hours and it ruined half my day yesterday :confused:

I think I was more upset that I was having a panic attack than about the fact that my bench was crooked.
I can’t expect to never get anxiety about my workouts or whatever because it seems darn near impossible to go that many days without wigging out about something. I just care so darn much and if I’m in one of those moods or its gonna be one of those days, then it’s gonna be one of those days. It’s not a matter of if, just a matter of what exactly will set me off. A crooked rep, a slow rep, doing one less set than I think I should, etc, etc…

I think instead of beating myself up every time I start to have a panic attack I will have a go-to nice thing for myself. like

I have to say it was kinda weird yesterday I didn’t get any anxiety related to my workout but today I woke up totally bummed about a few of my squat sets. Cause the weight seemed to shift kinda funny sometimes on my hips all unbalanced-like, in typical jenn fashion. I dunno if it’s cause the chiro adjusted me and now my hips are less crooked and it felt weird cause I am used to setting up in such a way a crooked bodied person would, ORWAHT

Jenn, I think because you train alone and in a commercial gym, you are unaware of just how strong YOU truly can be.

I’m quite sure you haven’t yet, but when are you going to do the meet?! If it’s any lift off the shoulders, I struggled with training anxiety for years, and still do from time to time. Although it might not be the same, I would set expectations with certain lifts that I felt I had to hit in order for my brain to perpetually be fed the thought I was strong. If I failed to hit it, I would brood on my rest days/weeks and come back and try to do it again. Since those awful times, I’ve learned how my body gets stronger, and I’m grateful I found out how. I’m also grateful I competed the few times I have because it’s forced me to push myself to the standard set by the arbitrary numbers of a show.

Those goals aren’t life goals they’re mid-term at most!

PS my hips are so fucked up my left leg is almost a full inch shorter.

LMAO looks like my random arm swinging is back

Yeah, my squat’s pretty crooked as well. I tend to squat with my left leg (bad hip) over the center of my body, and my right leg pushed way out. It’s pretty awful but I’ve practiced cues to help alleviate this.

Keep in mind your hip problem is likely a result of musculature issues and not structural, like mine is. I was beleaguered pretty badly when I first found out about my hips a few years ago, but I’ve learned to forget most days and pretend I’m a normal human bean. Anyway, do a meet! Find a friend to convince you to go by coming and chaperoning and what not. That’s what I did.
