I dare you to go to Wikipedia and change the 44 to 34 (much more reasonable) and see how quickly it gets changed back. This is a case where seeing is believing. I’m not in Missouri, but I can see it from where I live–so “show me.”[/quote]

I would consider it impossible to have 44 inch thighs unless you are like 7 feet and 500 pounds. At 5’10 209 lbs? There is no way in hell you could have freaky proportions like that, let alone run haha

I don’t even see how someone 5’10" could only weigh 209 lbs with 44" thighs unless he had the upper body development of a 9 year old girl.

Agreed.

Levrone apparently measured Vic Richard’s thighs when he was on stage once, and they only measured 37". No way in hell that this guy at 5’10" 209 lbs had thighs 7" bigger than Richards.

44" in diameter huh? i’m going to go ahead and assume that the author meant circumference. because if it was diameter he’d have something on the order of 138" legs (if he legs were circles in section).

even so, there’s no way he had 44" legs.

“Campbell is widely acknowledged as one of the best power backs in NFL history. Described as a “one-man demolition team”, Campbell was a punishing runner. His 34-inch (860 mm) thighs, 5-11, 244-pound frame, coupled with 4.6 speed, made him the most feared runner of his time.”

this is what wikipedia say right now. did someone go and change it?

You are missing that we are discussing two different football players…and again, I doubt Campbell’s 34" quads because they damn sure don’t look that big in any pics I’ve seen.

The wikipedia quote from earlier was for Newhouse and not Campbell. I don’t think anyone changed it.

My guess is that Newhouse was number 44, I have a feeling someone exaggerated his measurement to match his jersey number and the tall tale started and became ‘fact’ at some point.

lol yeah that’s what I thought. If they can’t tell the difference between circumference and diameter, then the actual measurement is questionable.

I thought Wikipedia was always right :stuck_out_tongue:

I’d be curious what maurice jones drew measured out at.

44" in diameter? so his legs were near 4 ft wide? lol
