undesired + phil—thanks…thats what i was thinking after looking at the vid…im gonna try getting lower at the gym today with some light weights…the vid was yesterday, lol…i just sort of feel “off” when i get lower, perhaps a flexibility issue, at least i know i have a solid sldl…ahhaha
Training after 4 days of beers and foods.
Fun stuff
Felt real gay , so i went light…
DL : worked up to 570
SQ: 450 raw
As simple as this. first time deadlift since the meet(18 november) , i’M impressed by the speed of my last dead considering the fact that i slept less than 3 hours the night before. On a good day i think 600 will be doable.
Interesting man, thanks for the tip. I might just try to ride this one out without any meds. I’m going in for some relatively easy lower body stuff today, so I’ll see how it feels.

Hey Matt, have you tried any Mobic?? It’s a antiflammatory that has helped my shoulders. You’ll have to get it from a doctor. I only take it on the days I workout. I have heard if you take it all of the time it will slow down your recovery time. I 'm not sure about that but, thats the rumor. Somebody else hear might know more about it than me. I just do what I’m told and so far, so good!! I hope it heals quickly so you can get back to training like you want.

bench DE sort of…
finally back after a week off for gluttony and Christmas.
I’m staying away from full ROM on bench for a ME until I get my bar speed back up.
this was not a typical DE workout but it kicked my ass.
Decline bench

skull crushers

275x4
DE bench -decided that I would finish the workout with my speed work. it got the blood flowing and got a good pump going. too bad I left the string tanktop at home. I could have hit some “killer” most muscular poses. I guess I could have borrowed one from about half the guys who train at my gym.
315 x 3 x 8 sets
abs.
It felt really good to get back into the gym. I’m hoping to pull 600 for a set of 10 on saturday.
Merry Festivus!! I broke out the pole and am ready for the feats of strength. (wonder if anyone gets that one.)

12/28/06 - ME Lower Body
A. Box Squat (parallel)
195 x 5, 245 x 3, 315 x 2, 335 x 1, 365 x 1, 385 x 1, 405 x 1, 415 x ?, 415 x 1
315 x 2, 335 x 3, 375 x 1 (90%)
B. Good Morning/Squat: 225 x 5, 245 x 5, 245 x 5, 225 x 4 (stricter)
A few sets of Ab work and Single Leg work
Couple sets of Band pushdowns for tricep recovery
NOTES: My previous best box squat was 395. Very pleased with 415. The reason for the 415 lift in question, is that my brother put his hands on me as I paused in the hole, and I discounted the lift. I angrily re-tested and got the 415.
The rep itself on 415 was very very slow until I remembered to force my knees out (tough without Matt yelling in my ear and coaching). It then flew up.
I was fried after the squatting, but pushed on. Unfortunately, I did something to my ankle during Single Leg Split Squats. Not serious, but it cut the uni-work short. Deload approaches, thankfully.

Thursday- 12/28/06- ME LB- Deload
A)Power Squat Machine (facing away)(plate loaded)
180x5
270x5

270x6
B1)Low Cable Pull Throughs (sumo stiff leg)
STACK(190lb)x12 x12 x15
B2)Circular Hanging Leg Raises
BWx12 x12 x10
Notes: Nothing special here. Right foot hurts a bit after the power squats. They’re probably the only machine I really like using in place of true squats. Kept the stress real low today.

The pull throughs from last week left my hams sore for basically 6 days after. Kinda strange, might’ve been the good mornings too.

Nice work buddy…feels good to break that 400lb and 4 plate barrier.
I wonder about the significance of the good morning squats on this. If my box squat gets up too, we may be on to something.

Gotta agree with Phill. You seem to be stiff-legging it a bit too much.
By the way, where do you train? It looks like one of the levels straight out of “Wolfenstein”

I was thinking about that as well. 20 lb PR (from 395) in a matter of what, two or three weeks, is pretty significant.
I also wonder if it simply is because I hadn’t box squatted in two or three weeks. In that time I did the ME deadlift, and the GM/S. Could just be the layoff from the movement, maybe?

Nice! Incredible numbers, and I got a good laugh when I pictured some dude doing skull crushers with two hundred fucking seventy-five pounds. Insane.
Anyways, here was my comparatively lame but fun DE lower body workout…
DE Squat (14" box): 205 + light band x 2 x 10. First time doing a full DE workout with band tension, and I like it!
Speed dead: 340 x 1 x 6, alternating mixed grip. Sticky just off the floor but flying up after that. Need to start pulling from a deficit now and then. I was reading a post by Matt K. on EliteFTS and he talked about using your quads to get the bar moving and that helped.
Pull throughs: 87.5 x 10 x 4, SLOW and steady since I was letting my back round out. Great pump from these.
Hanging Pikes(straight legs, toes touching the pullup bar with each rep): 6 x 4. Second favorite ab exercise.

Its official my LA threashhold is for Shit. I can go all the hell out for 10-15 seconds and have a BIG drop off. Im just so used to moving that heavy single or double etc. I think the 20 rep front squats and such of late have helped but I am going to slowy add in a bit more conditioning. Or ill be losing my lunch at the comp.
Just a bit for now the next 6 weeks make strenght the mainstay still but will need to get conditioning way the hell up for the comp as well as strength. So walk a fine line add in a bit for this first six week and try and concentrate on strength. Then that will give me 5 weeks to add in a lot more heavy conditioning, dragging shit, flipping tires High rep heavy DL’s, etc. and hopefully the weather will be better then a week off and hit the comp.

That’s what I like to hear. Someone with an insane love for lifting. I don’t find it very often. I try to go in and train like it’s the last time I will ever be able to. It’s really hard to explain unless you are talking to someone that is like minded.
Guys like you keep me motivated.
