Good job there Kalle!
Gee, 220 on each hand… I can’t imagine moving around with the 400 I had in my hands today. Maybe I should start picking up the 125lb dumbbells my gym has and start walking around in the aerobics room? I’m sure they’ll be happy when I fail and drop those bad boys. :-P
Thanks man, dumbbells are harder, they roll out of your hands and have a super low pick up, do some walks with dumbells though, deadlifts are easy after doing farmers walks.
with moving I had to move my 125lb Powerblocks of course I just picked them up and walked with them each time I was running with them, stupid dumbells banged against my thighs though.
And to Pemdas I take back my bad ass comment, you might lift heavy but your a damn strap nazi! My bicep is injured so I pull double overhand and use straps with Tony and now every pull we do we get questioned for it! Not cool man not cool
btw I didn’t use straps on my farmers walks today, lol.

Good job grinding through a session and still hitting two PRs! I’d consider that a win too! You’ve accomplished the goal of going into the gym and doing something you’ve never done before, in less than perfect situation no less! Keep going and I hope your next session is a great one!

Nice work. Did you have straps on for those lifts?
Great, the one time I use straps with Kalle and now people are expecting me to be using straps all the time. See what you’ve done Kalle?!
No, I didn’t use straps. Actually, I don’t have any straps all, yet. I ordered some today since I want to do some rack pulls next week. In the past, my grip would fail first and I want to try some much heavier rack pulls than my deadlifts to get used to handling even more weight. Kalle’s 495 on Tuesday really makes me want to pull something HEAVY. I don’t know about doing them rack pulls from 18" though. The lowest my rack goes is just below my knees.
Straps - hehehe. You’re marked now.
18" is about at your knees, so I think you’re good. Just above the knees is a LOT easier than just below. Can do ultraloads from that position.

On Incline Press, I’ve added a rep to all 4 working sets each week (started with 4x4, then 5x4, now 6x4), so I’m happy with the progress. Today was the first day that I felt strong with these, so that’s good.
After Wednesdays Upper ME session, I really couldn’t stop thinking about how off my form felt, so I decided to focus on some submax singles, but wanted them to be heavy enough so I still needed good leg drive and arch. Theses felt good today. The slightly wider grip felt much better. I’ve really been tucking my elbows with the pinky grip, to the point it’s almost a Close Grip Press. It’s not something I’ve been trying to do, and I think it may be what’s hurting my pressing. Hopefull this work today will not effect next Wednesdays ME day. In theory 315 is below 90% of my 1RM. If it’s not, then I have bigger issues to worry about.
Dips are coming along nicely as well. No shoulder pain with these and have progressed from 10x3 to 12x3, and now 15x3. I’ll start adding weight in a couple of weeks.

Good job on the PR! Actually, no good job. You only had 2 PRs this session which is just another ho hum day for Your Whoreness. I’ll reserve the praises 'til you fill the post with bolds like your other days.
Anyhow, good job making constant progress on your incline press. I know that’s one of the lifts that you really want to improve on. And, good job getting back into the groove with your flat bench. Sounds like you’ll be having a whore party in your next ME Upper session.
My training today. Im taking after Matt. Im a movie star, they were interviewing the gym for the kids program ive been helping a bit with and I was an extra in the background doing chins and situps and curls LOL.
Other got some more goodies going for the strongman comp Im hosting as well. I really need to concentrate on it now that my art show is up.

I think the flat bench technique work will serve you well. Scott Yard of EFS advocates this for you raw dogs of the world. However, he also mentions that with raw benching, most people should only try benching once a week then save the other day as an assistance day. How much this advice applies to the masses is not clear, but maybe it’s something to think of to get around your plateau.
A)ME Squat
Bar x lots
135 x 5 or 8
185 x 3
225 x 3
275 x 3
315 x 1
365 x 1
385 x 1
405 x 1 x 5
B)H.S. V-Squat, facing backwards
234 x 5
594 x 8 x 3, first set and last 4 reps paused
C)Single-Leg RDL w/ DBs=45 x 12 x 2 each leg
D)Pulldown Abs=123.5 x 12 x 2
NOTES: Hamstrings and glutes were still impossibly sore from the RDLs on Wednesday. I feebily foam-rolled the hammies and had to do a total of 24 leg swings on each side to get them to a reasonable length.
I probably couldn’t have done any more weight on the squats. 405 is just over 90% but today those were each pretty tough and sticky. My setup and technique felt okay, the strength just wasn’t there.
The first set on the V-Squat felt almost explosive, which is probably why the second set nearly killed me. I think it took 4 or 5 minutes for me to do the last set of those things.
I am happy I just bought my first pair of Chucks I tried them on at a shoe store and I can tell they will kick ass for squatting. I want to squat right now! Tuesday… Tuesday…
I got them for 29.99 on sale for some hi tops, I think thats a good deal.

EFS has a sale on belts. What style belt do you guys use? Also, what do you prefer, single or double prong?
I have a double prong from elite fts, I think its the prime cut belt, might be the retro though, either way I like it. the power belt must be THICK, I think it would be to much belt for me.
I would recommend getting one on sale.
Dave Tate’s book is also on sale for something silly like 5 bucks. I think I am going to have to order that right now…

You’re gonna love them. Well, I haven’t tried the Nike Frees yet and you were switching from, but I switch to Chucks after squatting with running shoes. Boy, what a difference that was. That pair of shoes is gotta be worth another 10-20lbs on your squat.

haha lets hope the shoes help for 20 and I got another 20 in me because I want 405 on Tuesday.
There the black pinstriped ones to, look pretty snazzy, I wanted pink ones but they didn’t have any, lol.
I think my free’s will still be better for most everything else other than back squatting, good mornings, and the like. Im going to end up bringing 4-5 pairs of shoes to competitions. I am such a diva.

I’ve got the single prong Prime Cut from Elitefts. It’s a beast. I think the Power Belt would be too much belt for most people. I prefer the single prong, especially with a thick belt, because it is easier to take off.

I just picked up my first pair of chucks 3 weeks ago. Once you squat in chucks, you will never want to use anything else. At least that is how i felt about them. I used to use Adidas which had a very small elevated heal. The instant I squatted in chucks I felt the difference.
Sorry about that strap comment. I didn’t mean for it to be malicious, I just wanted to hear that his grip was improving.
