Westside Makes You Sexy(er)

The kleenex in the nose just makes it all seem so much more badass

Good power out of the hole. Watch that rock back, though. Don’t want that low back losing any tension. Try sitting back just a >little< more. And then start the movement pushing your head back into the bar. That should help keep the chest up and back solid. Remember to push with the hands too.

Looking solid, though.

SAV!!!

(as Hallowed would say)

savage if you don’t know

Nice! Look rock solid to me…

Nice box squats. You’re the man for lifting in a freezer.

That did look good but agree about the rocking part.

  • a million about being a true man for lifting in a freezer. That’s dedication.

james

Nice squatting, looked strong!

kilt - 10-4. I did lose some tightness at the bottom. Too much brainpower spent on thinking “knees out”. Too many programs open, not enough processing power.

MiM - Hallowed does have her own language but I’m slowly learning. Thanks for the translation

Colin - dude, your avi reminds me that I need to do more shoulder work. Noice.

Joe - Thanks bud. It’s just like mom used to say, you need to dress in layers.

james - some days it takes all my willpower to walk past the fridge and hit the shed instead of grabbing a beer and sitting on my ass.

matt - that 385 was for you

Couple things:

  • I’m going to the Cayman Islands next week for work. This will mess up my Tate Plan a bit so I’ll need to assess when I get back. Could be worse I suppose.

  • I had blood taken this morning to figure out if I’m getting old or not. I don’t think I am. I’m curious to see where my T levels are.

the nose bleed and 14 coats makes you look like a powerlifter every day

nice work on that squat

caymen islands- why are my work trips like going to jersey or the square states
dang

logging off work computer so I can see a badass nosebleed (at 315???) must be the dry heat in the house…

I know, right? Maybe if it was 600 but 315…that’s weaksauce.

Yes! Soccer game glute activation is a win!

I totally disagree with the above statement, by the way. That’s some badassery right there!

I know you miss your family and stuff when you’re gone, but seriously, you go to the BEST places when you travel for work. I want to be Git when I grow up.

Hello my go-to question answer person…

Oh first, nice squattin’! This is probably the only log on the face of the earth that actually makes me miss box squatting, ha-ha.

Okay so you know how people say core tight for my deadlifts, but then people also say big belly full of air (especially when wearing a belt, you’re supposed to really push it out, right?) SO How do you do both at the same time? How do you have a tight core and a big belly full of air?!

I have never understood this concept.

Interesting question Spock!!

Hey! I just want to say that you are doing amazing things with your lifting. Shit is really coming together!

OK, so think of “brace” or “tight” core as what you would do if you knew someone was going to punch you in the stomach. You can try it now, I’ll wait…doo dee doo doo, doo dee doo…OK, that was probably pretty easy.
Now take a breath into your belly (not your chest…your boobs shouldn’t move), hold it, and then pretend you are going to get punched in the stomach. That is the “belly full of air and brace against your abs” feeling. The belly full of air increases abdominal pressure for greater internal support and the belt that gives some external support. The combination gives a stable base for deads and squats. But it works even without the belt.

Sitting on the sidelines for 90 minutes gives me some time. Might as well work on my butt! I did get some looks from a couple of soccer moms. Howyoudoin?

I got an email last night that the trip is delayed a bit so more lifting next week…nice! And you are right about the locations. Going to the Caribbean in February / March is not horrible

Hi Charlie! That is good box squat summary. Nice! I’m going to read that when I get to work (slow day). Isn’t it 4:30am where you are? WTF

I work nights. I’m near Vancouver. This is close to bed time for me.

Yeah I was looking for box squat stuff too. I’m going to be doing those for a while instead. I’m lurking in you log checking back vids and posts about the box squat. Finding all the box squatters.

Congrats on the box squat PR Git!
