Happy (belated?) Bday Git! You sir, are absolutely crushing the weight recently. Your log is always a good place to come to for motivation. Keep up the good work.
Happy Belated Bday!!
Happy Birthday!!! Such a big, BIG boy…
Glad you had a nice dinner, Git! May there be many, many more PRs to smash! MUAH!
Sounda like a great spread. Glad to hear you enjoyed it.
Happy B-day sir. I am new to posting here-just wanted to say nice numbers !!
Happy birthday. hope it was a good one.
Hey, thanks everybody! Birthday was nice; especially the kids and their home-made cards. So excited!
happy Birthday-
Pr’s good squats and a trap bar-
training is looking solid
nice work!!
DE Upper
Dynamic Bench
135 + doubled micro-minis (about 30lbs at the top)
Narrow x 5 sets
Medium x 5 sets
Pinky on rings x 5 sets
- read something by A. Bolton about getting really tight. After some experimentation I realize that I am far from it. Took me about 10 sets to get it somewhat right. Getting tight is friggin tiring.
DB bench
65s x 2 x 15
Tate press
30s x 3 x 12
- this extension movement seems elbow friendly. Like them.
DB rows alternated with shrugs
65s x 12
85s x 12
85s x 12
85s x 12
- prefer these over 1 arm DB rows. Feel it in my lats more.
Shrugs
135 x 12
225 x 12
315 x 12
365 x 12
Hammer curls
30s x 12
40s x 12
40s x 12
I think it was Dave Tate that said “if you’re not uncomfortable benching, you are doing it wrong.” That and something to the tune of benching being a full body effort. I suck at getting/keeping tight. If he were to push my knee while benching, I’d probably fall off the bench.
Damn, you’re old. Good thing you’re strong. But can you run up a (steep) hill?
Happy belated.

One of my co-workers had a birthday this week. She is literally half my age. So, yeah I guess I am old(er).
I like hills. I just prefer to take my time.

Back in his day the hills used to be steep in both directions.

I embrace hills, whole bodily. And mountains? I’d love to mount them, especially Mount Rushmore.

That’s right…uphill both ways.

Thanks bud.
Cut my squat box down to 11" from 12.75" so i can vary heights by adding pads or boards on top. Took some measurements and when I’m sitting back on the box with a wide stance this gives me a starting position 2" inches below parallel (top of kneecap). I’ll have to watch for hip soreness. i’m going to start doing some closer stance stuff as well.

That should be interesting to see how changing the box depths works.
