Oh never mind then. It was a log that got 1000 posts in like a week because every day, OP had an existential crisis about how his bench wasn’t climbing fast enough. Somehow everyone here was kind enough to offer positive advice every day.
It all faded away after an epic sendoff.
Prior to that, the OP had a thread about 7 years no progress despite eating cool whip for breakfast and AMRAPing all the time.
All in all it reminded me a lot of the heavy squatting boxer guy. But worse.
Ah right, that guy. You might be on to something.
And also, squatty boxer dude was far worse, always talking about how he was going to get all kinds of women, and how they’d all choke on his 3.5 inches of man-meat.
Speaking of far worse, I was supposed to have a shoulder day today, but my lower back is still a bit jacked from tweaking it yesterday and I was way underfed. Not a good recipe for my last pressing day of 2021, so I did some bitch-ass pulling again as a bonus day.

Besides which, I need to be prepared for the HSPU challenge tomorrow, so I am going to have a quick bulk today.
I see. I was aware he was a basket case, but hadn’t seen that part. I tend not to dive too deep into these abysses. (sp?)
Agreed, I usually only go into those logs because I hear other people talking and get curious.
Well hello there, little NYE surprise for me. That’s 209.4 for those of you who hate math (cough @wanna_be cough). No backoff sets, because I had to fully use 10 minutes to ground myself again, so I moved on to something else.

I had it in my mind for the last two days that I was going to get this done, so I made sure I stuffed my face with protein and lots of extra calories yesterday. That said, I was having a bit of an adrenaline dump before I even started warming up, so I thought I was toast for sure. Yes that’s right, I had a premature release of fluids. And then I have to get cooking again just to make sure I hit 90, and then had to really calm myself and focus once more. This was all more like managing my emotions than it was hitting the lift itself. The untold joys of being an emotional lifter.
Also, here is my entry for the New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2022 HSPU Challenge, European Edition @Koestrizer
I appear to lean to one side, which just confirms that I am crooked, just as I suspected.
I can relate. A well-earned PR for sure and a good way to close out the year. Congrats!
Congratulations! What a press!
I would not have figured you for an emotional lifter, you seem so level headed.
It’s okay, I embrace being an emo.
Good to know that, even heading into your 70th year, you can still push the big iron.
Merry New Year old man.
Wait, so by extension that would make me emo as well? That doesn’t sound right.
Nah, a true emo doesn’t question it.
See now you put it that way and I feel like I am unqualified to be emo and need to try harder.
Holy shit dude.
Did you hit the minimum required blood alcohol level though?
Being drunk at the gym is frowned upon. I think. I mean, I can try it drunk sometime, but I don’t think it is going to change much.
I accept hungover.
Nice press PR mate and good slow mo Hspu. Hands were very wide to minimise range of motion I call null and void ![]()
