Outstanding!
So 95 by year’s end, right? You’ve got a few weeks yet…

Ugh. I won’t likely commit to it as a goal, but that doesn’t mean I won’t try it. I actually get a bit of anxiety just sitting here thinking about it as I type this, seems I never get used to the idea of pushing anything over 75.
Unbelievable. Great job. I hope you stood there at lockout for as long as possible
despite the sparse crowd.
I stood there long enough to remember that nobody was likely watching.
Bonus pulling day. Would normally have taken the day off, but I thought I could put this in to sort of fix my ‘rotation’ so that don’t have my bench day coming right after my press day.
I think this strategy of using Pullups more as a warmup and do a bunch of machine pulling is paying off. For the first time ever I feel like I am consistently hitting my lats (which is weird because they might be my strongest muscle group).

Isolateral Plate Loaded Row
Very easy chest day today. Have been pretty busy with work this week, so all my sessions are a bit shorter than I like. No spotter today, so no heroics. My only goal today was to make the backoff sets on the inclines much tougher than they needed to be. That went well.
Decline Barbell Bench Press
Barbell Incline Bench Press
Ab Wheel (standing)
I am too chicken to decline 140 by myself, which is a bit annoying because I would like to make it my TM. 135 is too ‘easy’.
Strong incline man! Especially considering you did them after decline
Thanks man. I actually said I was going to reverse the order last time, but then I woulda had to do 135 without a spotter while being a tiny bit fatigued and that seemed like a bad idea.
I haven’t benched with a barbell in a long time. I used to flat and incline when I first started working out at home, I just got really good at the roll of shame ![]()
Edit: I’m guessing it’s the roll of shame then death on decline ![]()
Exactly, lol. I have only ever failed a lift on the decline once, and that was two weeks ago when I tried to double 140. No idea what I would even do if I failed without the spotter.
I’m really glad you didn’t tag @wanna_be here. That would have just been rubbing salt in the wound.
No doubt he was typing up a response real time when I posted it, but his keyboard shorted out from all the tears being spilled.
Thankfully he uses weird units and not pounds. I still have to Google them. I knew 92.5 was heavy, I didn’t realize it was ~203lbs heavy till now though. It’s a very solid press for someone of his age and stature.
Just think, if only I wasn’t so curmudgeonly and small. Plus my gout acting up all the time.
Lucky for you I’ve hung up the BB OHP for a bit. Should give you plenty of time to make some progress and give me a run for my money ![]()
Can we afford to give him lots of time at his advanced age?
I didn’t even think of that. Solid point.
Mate, I am old and small, have no access to helping hormones and already in way over my head. Haha, way over my head, that’s a pun.
Hahaha this is true! Already (probably) out pressing and im “young and optimizedddd”
On my tombstone, the only thing it is going to say is ‘He died doing what he loved…out-pressing Dagill’. It will confuse people, but who cares, I will be dead.
