Weird, but impressive

They are like if yoga pants were food.

Another kinda shit day. Feeling mostly fine, but feeling a bit of a muscle pull in my right hammy, plus a little tweak in my lower back during the session. So even though I bumped up the training max by another 5 kilo, I only did one backoff set before stopping. Not going to play around where my back is concerned, and legit do not care about my DL numbers.

  • Barbell Deadlift

    • 70 kg x 5 reps
    • 90 kg x 5 reps
    • 110 kg x 5 reps
    • 125 kg x 3 reps
    • 145 kg x 3 reps
    • 160 kg x 1 reps
    • 180 kg x 1 reps
    • 125 kg x 5 reps
  • Muscle-Up

    • 5 reps
    • 3 reps

Boxed a little as well.

What if I told you I just pulled 185kg?

I would simply respond that I pulled 190 last week and also Who Cares.

I have no idea at all where my deadlift is right now, to be honest. Somewhere between 150 and 220 probably.

It ain’t worth fussing about. I only do it to stay in some kind of equilibrium. You can taunt/tempt me with lots of stuff, but not deads. I am no longer willing to pay the price and take the risks.

I’m not too worried either. I’m nowhere near all time PR territory and that’s the kind of thing I care about.

Listen to the two broken old men talk about how they don’t care about it whilst they spend time wondering what program to use next and how to get stronger. LOL.

On a more serious note @Cyrrex you mention often about a back problem yet show good strength in lots of lifts that need a strong back. Is there a problem there or are you just worried because of a past experience.

Both, I guess. Have had two injuries in the past - one moderate and one major. Because of those injuries and other specific issues I have in my back (curvature, stenosis), I am just much more likely than average to suffer those injuries again. The good news is that I generally know what I have to be careful of…very heavy deadlifts, very heavy horizontal rowing.

I know how to get my deadlift stronger. I still don’t program it.

Tits day. Not really focusing on either of these, and yet I keep adding weight to the bar. Bumped them both up 5 kilo officially. Decline without backoff sets, Inclines with. Repped the incline max because why not…the 5 this week was easier than the 4 last week. 125 on the decline just to be sure that I could. Yay.

  • Decline Barbell Bench Press

    • 50 kg x 5 reps
    • 60 kg x 5 reps
    • 72.5 kg x 5 reps
    • 85 kg x 3 reps
    • 95 kg x 3 reps
    • 107.5 kg x 1 reps
    • 120 kg x 1 reps
    • 125 kg x 1 reps (joker)
  • Barbell Incline Bench Press

    • 40 kg x 5 reps
    • 50 kg x 5 reps
    • 57.5 kg x 5 reps
    • 65 kg x 3 reps
    • 75 kg x 3 reps
    • 85 kg x 1 reps
    • 95 kg x 5 reps (joker reps)
    • 65 kg x 8 reps
    • 65 kg x 8 reps

Had a day off yesterday, but I went bouldering for the first time in a couple years, which of course absolutely obliterated me. So tired. Forearms nearly useless. Normally I would be push pressing today, but that will have to be skipped this week. Only thing I can really do is squat, and even that is damn chore when your hands don’t feel like holding on to the bar.

So yeah. Unfocused and uninterested. By the time I got to 120 I was pretty sure I would only barely manage the 130 topset single. And then I don’t know what happened. Good song came on the spotify rotation, pulled my ass together, found the groove, and kept putting on the kilos.

  • Barbell Squat

    • 50 kg x 5 reps
    • 65 kg x 5 reps
    • 80 kg x 5 reps
    • 90 kg x 3 reps
    • 105 kg x 3 reps
    • 120 kg x 1 reps
    • 130 kg x 1 reps
    • 140 kg x 1 reps (joker)
    • 145 kg x 1 reps (joker)
    • 150 kg x 1 reps (joker)
    • 90 kg x 8 reps
    • 90 kg x 8 reps
    • 90 kg x 8 reps
  • Seated Leg Curl

    • 30 kg x 10 reps
    • 35 kg x 10 reps
    • 40 kg x 10 reps
    • 50 kg x 10 reps

So I guess that was the squat goal taken care of. Was kinda slow on the way up, but good enough. Pretty happy about that lift at this BW.

The sport of Kings.

Except its not a sport.

I feel like they could have named it rocking. Or stoning.

The sport of hipsters in my experience (although I am never quite sure about what constitutes as a hipster. Maybe millenial is more accurate)

You may want to pick some loftier goals

Still mostly true, although it seems to be evolving more towards the mainstream. Families and stuff.

Thanks for crapping on my goals, mate. It was just a short term goal, I didn’t expect to meet it a week after setting it.

No problem buddy, happy to help by bullying you to greater success.

Planned off day yesterday. Was hoping that would be enough for me to get back on top of things from a recovery perspective, but I am still beat to shit. Seems like I have had a lot of minor issues over the past few weeks, but thankfully not bad enough to keep me from progressing.

Today was presses. Still using TM as a framework, although obviously I am abusing the shit out of it. And why not? It works.

Standing Barbell Shoulder Press (OHP)

  • 35 kg x 5 reps
  • 40 kg x 5 reps
  • 45 kg x 5 reps
  • 50 kg x 3 reps
  • 60 kg x 3 reps
  • 67.5 kg x 1 reps
  • 75 kg x 5 reps
  • 65 kg x 10 reps
  • 60 kg x 10 reps
  • 60 kg x 10 reps

Pretty good, considering I wasn’t even confident I would be able to press 75 today…I seem to be getting a rep better every week. And the backoff sets were money, only need to do 50x8 at this weight.

Been a productive week considering I am feeling 90%.
