Weird, but impressive

I will admit to not understanding your shiny things addiction, but I am probably on the opposite end of the spectrum. Would rather train instinctually, or follow a simple-but-tough program like BBB for some lifts.

I’m not sure I fully understand it myself. I think it’s similar to my drive for eating shit food. Mostly I don’t enjoy training the shiny things anymore than the boring things and I definitely get worse results than if I didn’t do them and trained smartly.

Well at least we share a love of shit food.

I had been planning to go back to Advanced 5/3/1 for my next cycle (5x5 week 1, 5x3 week 2, 5x1 week 3). It’s going to be that or just traditional 5/3/1 with minimum reps and the above BBB for awhile.

Boobs day. This would be Week 3 of a 531 cycle if I were keeping track, which I clearly am not since I am not officially doing it yet. Weight goes up to 90 today, and since 80 and 85 for 14 reps was so inexplicably hard, I knew I wasn’t strong enough to repeat that feat with 5 more kilo.

And crap, the FSL sets were not fun. Anyway, not bad. Only about 10 kilo off were I would like it all to be.

Ran for 10 minutes as well, no biggie. No time for other stuff today.

How similar is a HSPU to a bodyweight press?

HSPU is miles easier. Can’t fully explain why, some of it has to do with an easier ROM. Give it a go!

Just to prove I am not totally full of shit, good to post a vid once in a while

And just imagine, those fucking chicken legs need to figure out how to squat 150 again.

You make that look so easy. I tried a muscle up once and about destroyed my shoulder.

Just measure it in lbs, job done.

Wow, yeah, you do make that look easy. So springy. I hope I can still move like that when I’m older.

Do you do weighted muscle-ups?

Yer this helps @Cyrrex when he’s getting the bus :joy::joy:

Guys, you’ll never know how much all this support means to me.

I haven’t really found a good way that doesn’t somehow involve a loose weight smashing into my junk or flying across the room.

Vest?

Maybe, but anything getting in the way of the chest clearing the bar would be annoying. More to the point…weighted MUs don’t seem like a worthwhile thing. Reps are better.

How many consecutive reps could you do?

I wouldn’t add weight to a pull up if I could do less than 10 reps, so I assume muscle ups would be similar?

Best ever was 9. When I am in shape, 6 or 7 would be within reach. Currently even 3 or 4 is giving me trouble, my brain is struggling with reps for some reason.

I am still not sure adding weight would be anything useful.

I added weight to pull ups and can’t do 10 reps BW. I’m cursed now.

I don’t think @Cyrrex should or should not add weight. Was curious more than anything.

You’re probably correct, but…

See if you can find a small, cute girl at the gym to climb into your back so you can try them with added weight. Make sure you record it.
