i`m knockin out some concentration curls out on one of the benches an there is the usual line of folk doing their thing stood behind the benches staring into the mirrors.
this young kid who in all rspect to him has a proper athletic type body with great definition walks upto a lesser built bloke doing some standing curls with his ipod on and a degree of concentration on his face. the young lad proceeds to wave his hand in front of the blokes face several times…breaking the blokes concentration…
now what could be the reason behind this blatant disregard for another lifters set?..to tell him the building is on fire ? to tell him he`s needed urgently? nah he just asks him if he can have the bench in front of him? the young gun could not wait a few seconds of respect time…this makes my blood boilllllllll
another thing… i moved my bench between the mirror and mat so i could throw some single arm snatches out, i was going heavier than usual and chose to sit between sets on the bench to draw my breath and psych out for the next set…this nob of a lifter decides everytime i sit he`s going to walk across the matt in front of me as he goes to the water fountain !!! my growing rage inspired me to a new best of 4 X 88lb single arm db snatches…but the disrespect from folk like him rages me…aaaaaaaaarrrrrgggghhhhhhh

My personal favorite is the tool who wears lifting gloves when they are using the restrict-fullmotion-machines. This kid this morning at the gym was wearing these gloves that were clearly for bike riding and doing tricep pushdowns on the machine.
And on top of that, this kid (who was the typical guitto and never lifts) would flex in the mirror inbetween every set for a solid 45 seconds. I just wanted to go up to him and say, listen kid, lifting is much easier if you man up and build calluses so you don’t look like a tool with your bike riding gloves[/quote]
I’m not sure he’s the tool in this scenario. Maybe he just needs to be educated that calluses are necessary to be viewed as “cool and manly” by some lifters. I’m sure that will be a great help to him.

Oh boy can I relate to shit like that. Next time that happens to me, I’m going to just drop the bar on the ground and yell real loud “What”, real loud… My patients is running thing on these fuckers.

im my gym, when i’m about to do a workset, nobody would dare to come around me and fuck with my concentration. so i guess i should appreciate that considering that that courtesy doesn’t seem to be extended to all people.

i know wher your comin from mate but this spunk bubble was a young asian kid that has the air of if you upset me ill tell the world your a redneck racist thug` and as the gym is very pc he knows the trouble it will bring, i need to change gyms.
i joined this fitness centre and am tied for another 3 months
i freak em out using ropes wrapped around bars, using barbells as leverage tools, wearing ripped combat shorts and deliverance t-shirts but the staff love me as ?that scary bloke who trains like an animal? the only thing i could do to upst em is to tell this lad or shit on the sunbed hahaha
choke this one down…
when i`m rattlin iron i take snuff to help with my breathing.
its a quiet afternoon in the gym…the personal trainer is tutorin this bird who i know is a copper. ive heard her talkin to the lad on the bench to my right about police stuff so i figure hes dibble too.
i go through this routine of having a pich of snuff up each nostril, breathe in hard, chalk my hands and lift hard…
the women asks if its snuff, i reply congatulations sherlock and explain how it helps me breathe and satisfys my nicotine addiction.
next in comes another well groomed lifter, he gives the lad at the side of me an acknowledgement that suggest they`re in the same job.
so i pick my silver tin up and snort some more…i can see this 3rd coppers look is a questioning one…i chalk up and finish my set, its a good one.
then he pipes up “can i ask you what that is?” i says “chalk” “no” “that in the tin” he asks…“oh that…its just snuff” and tell him the same as the woman. "does it gives you a hit " he asks so i tell him only the hit of being able to breathe clear.
another set put away and his copper like curiosity has got the better of him…he asks to try some(probably convinced its some sort of narcotic )
so i says aye get stuck in…he takes a pinch up each nostril…cries whoaah it does give you a bit of a hit doesn`t it…his eyes start to water and he dives for the fountain like a scolded cat…hahahah i was cryin wi laughter like i am now…fuck em
I have seen the usual wrist curls behind the back in the squat rack, curls in the squat rack, and guys asking for a spot while using a smith machine. These probably happen everywhere.
I have also seen trainers having the clients holding dumbells by the plates and doing squats. What gives with this? They usually can’t go low enough without the weight hitting the ground to get a good squat. Most of them do it with a rounded back, so it isn’t good form.
Another of my favorites are the light bulbs. They work upper body exclusively. They usually wear long pants because they have french fry legs they are trying to hide.
Gyms are tool magnets.
I guy was pressing 245 above the head on the smith machine. This Filipino fellow comes and pulls a ten pound plate off the bar while the guy is still sitting there with his hands on the bar.
The same Asian fellow was also admiring his “tricep” was standing in front of me in open toed leather sandles while I was doing this seated fat bar clean. I start my set in a rage and pull a double with 185 and send it flying. I scared the life out of him and that was that.
Also, I’m known to do a lot of neck work with my Headstrap for Hercules and Jumpstretch Bands. If people ask I tell them what’s up. Look once to see what’s up maybe but set after set stairing? Is that needed?

I swear nobody likes these stories more than me. I can’t even begin to think how pissed I’d be if someone was to take a plate off the bar right before starting a set. I almost hope something like this happens when I go train in 45 min or so, just to clock the mother fucker.

Some guy did that to me while we were benching. I was taking a while between sets, because it was shirted benching, plus I had to wait for a spot from the kids I was lifting with. I confronted him about it, telling him that it’s dangerous to do such a thing because an unbalanced bar could cause the weight to fall on my chest.
He then bullshits about how I wasn’t at the bench at the time, blah blah blah (my stuff is sitting around the bench, and I’m about 10 feet away). There are ten pound plates all around the gym. Why would you need to take one off of a bar in use?

I’ve seen my friends use the leg curl machine for Tricep pushdowns and claim they were more effective than overhead tricep extensions.
Needless to say, I tried it jokingly to see how if I could feel it at all and I pushed the damn thing down so fast I landed on my ass.
I guess somebody posted something about me in a forum that day.
i am struggling to comprehend how you could have seen anyone push down on a leg curl machine, much less do it yourself. the leg curl machine curls upwards, what is it you would be pushing down on?

Leg curl machine (as in ham curls), not leg extensions.
