Weight Training Has “Cardio” Like Benefits

I knew where the post was…but unlike you, I wasn’t going to throw anyone under the bus.
Please…if you are out, stay out. You haven’t offered anything worthwhile or constructive to this thread. Instead you have just proved how ignorant you are.
Regardless of your lack of credibility, keep on taking the meds…

Look brother, I’m not targeting you specifically or trying to gang up. I’m just saying it’s irrelevant and your last post was simply the one I replied to. No harm intended.

Old School bodybuilders did not do tradition cardio that we know today. They did high volume and a lot of them used heavy weight. They ate differently. Some ate keto like diets

I’m talking about up until the late 1940’s for sure. Even in the 50s

This is something Franco Columbu said

When it comes to weight loss, many people assume going for a run or pounding away at the treadmill are fundamental for burning fat.

However, according to Columbu, cardio isn’t that important for getting lean. In fact, it hardly featured at all in the programmes of old school bodybuilders.

Speaking to Muscular Development Magazine, Columbu said:

“People never understood that lifting weights is cardio. I don’t know why people think that only running is cardio.

“The cardio comes from training for three hours a day, with 30 seconds apart between each set.”

Also

Columbu was quick to point out that not all weight training counts as cardio.

“Lifting does not become cardio if you’re doing deadlifts, for example.”

Deadlifts are typically performed with a heavier weight for lower reps and longer rest periods, so the intensity of these is difficult to ramp up.

“But bodybuilding in the gym – going from one machine to another – is cardio”, Columbu claimed.

Does that mean you shouldn’t do cardio if you’re looking to lose weight? Probably not.

Eugen Sandow is another example of no drugs or cardio other than weights

“When it comes to weight loss, many people assume going for a run or pounding away at the treadmill are fundamental for burning fat.”

This is typical of a straw man argument of HiTers. But I see Franco Columba said this. My response is who cares what a steroid using bodybuilder states about cardiovascular conditioning. Cardio is for conditioning the circulatory system including the heart. Cardio is not done primarily for weight loss even though it is far superior to resistance training for that purpose.

“But bodybuilding in the gym – going from one machine to another – is cardio”, Columbu claimed“

This is called circuit weight training, and has been shown to be inferior to traditional cardiovascular conditioning. It would have been better if Dr? Colombo used his chiropractor medical knowledge instead of foolishness.

At the end of the day I do what works the best for me. It’s about what is sustainable for ME in the long run.

I provided a few examples of people who are not HIT guys who don’t do traditional cardio.

There are “HIT” guys who do recommend cardio. I could give a shit what other do nor do I think my way is the best way.

Most of the info on this website reads like an ad for what the owners are hawking. Some of is like an online muscle rag. Ads= money.
