Weight Program for Football

As the subject says, I am looking for a weight routine with focus in speed and agility.
I am 6.1’ and 162 pounds and play wide reciever.

I want to increase mass and speed, and I am having problems finding the right program.

As I understand I need to implement plyometrics, deadlift, squats, bench, snatch…

I would appreciate any help, been searching the net, but found nothing specific or reliable.

Westside for Skinny Bastards Part III (with a template for off-season and in-season).

Are you doing any off season training at your school? Even if your coach doesn’t know his ass from his elbow when it comes to strength training, you have to be careful adding in your own training on top of what you’re doing with the team.

you’re rather skinny, you should try to add some solid mass while trying to maintain your current speed/agility from sprints and plyometrics. and you guessed it, stick to the compounds: Squat, dead, bench, row, pull ups, overhead presses, olympic lifts like snatches and cleans

as mentioned above, if you’re already doing weight training with the team, you’ll have to watch how much lifting volume you add on top of that.

perhaps most important of all, you’ll need to get your diet in check. if you’re at any kind of program near what mine was in high school you’ll be doing tons of running and conditioning with the team, and will be able to increase calories by more than you think.

Yeah, he doesnt know his ass from his elbow when it comes to strengh training, and we are left on our own.

daneq: What do you think about WSBPIII, mentioned before?

And yes, I am afraid of losing speed and agility by adding mass.

You will gain speed, agility and muscle if you do WS4SBIII. Read it, read the website. It is based around training athletes for sports, mostly football.

In all honesty, I would use ws4sb 2 instead of 3. Just my personal opinion.

Another vote for Joe D and his WS4SB series.

Bow at the alter of Defranco… I do…
