Drinking is brutal on your bodybuilding endeavour. It depends on how committed you are to your body if you want to quit. The sugar in alcohol is awful for a bodybuilder and the dehydration aspect of alcohol is worse. If you are going to drink I would suggest consuming 12-16 oz. of water for every drink you take. You will be urinating like a race horse but this will keep your body hydrated as well as not having a terrible hangover the next day.

I quit drinking thinking it was hindering my progress and guess what? It didn’t do shit, I looked the same before and after. So I said screw it, and started drinking again, 'cause I like it. Of course moderation is the key as it has been said so many times, no sense in being destructive. Besides, the binge drinking thing will taper itself off naturally because you and your freinds will eventually get married and no wife looks at partying with your freinds all weekend to kindly. It depends on what you want, I really don’t think that it would make to much of a difference in your body, that last little bit of flab is murder to remove, drinking or not. I personally don’t think giving up everything you love to get a little bigger or leaner is worth it unless you plan on making a shit load of money on it in which case you would develope a $60,000 a year 'riod habit which is worse for you anyway. Just to look a little better? to get a tiny edge in a non-competative paradigm is feeding something far more dangerous and intoxicating than liquer and that’s your ego. Your young, go have fun just don’t let it be a problem. If you want to quit go ahead, but don’t do it just to feed your dumb old ego. You may want to think about less dangerous alternatives like weed; it’s not near as bad for you as alchohol. You feel fine the next day and your work outs will not be as affected.
