Week On - Week Off Routine

So I will hopefully be starting a new job as a roughneck that requires me to stay at the jobsite for a week until I get my week off. This will be until I get my drivers license back and can get back to my beloved field welding. :).

What I am wondering is right now I am doing the West Side for Skinny Bastards III routine, now will this routine really do much good if I will not be able to workout every week? Or should I switch over to a new routine for the time being? Thanks for your help.

IDK the answer to your question, but at least you could do pushups, pullups, bodyweight squats etc, during your week off.

Are you going to be roughnecking or a rig welder?

If you are roughnecking you are going to be working hard. So I don’t “think” it will be that big of a deal.

If you are the rig welder then that “could” be a different story.

I have seen some pretty big roughnecks in my time…

Well I am a rig welder but don’t have a license at the moment so I will be doing some roughnecking work. I know how hard that can be, since I have also seen some pretty big looking guys out on drilling rigs and all. It’s just will I be getting good results using the same routine if I cannot use it except for every other week? Because I will be going to the gym on my weeks off, but want a routine that I can get the most out of.

Also, being a rig welder can be a bitch at time too, don’t think out job is so easy :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t sweat my comments much. I know that a good crew will help the welder alot and a badly managed crew will leave the welder to fend for himself, hence alot of heavy work.

As a previous poster mentioned, do body weight exercises to keep yourself active and hit the gym hard on your days off

Good luck and lift safe…
