Sorry, I’ll side with Gojira every time on this. Learn how to spell, use punctuation appropriately and form coherent thoughts or everyone (especially me) will think your a dumbass every time you post.
mmm…not all women are weak and emotional. Just many.

To investigate possible effects of chronic marijuana use on reproductive and stress hormones, we assayed testosterone, luteinizing hormone, follicle stimulating hormone, prolactin, and cortisol in 93 men and 56 women with a mean (+/- S.E.) age of 23.5 +/- 0.4 years.
Hormone values were compared among groups of subjects stratified according to frequency of marijuana use (frequent, moderate and infrequent; N = 27, 18, and 30, respectively) and non-using controls (N = 74). Chronic marijuana use showed no significant effect on hormone concentrations in either men or women.
I posted more studies in the past on this. In fact, I have done so many times over the last four years. I am not sure who keeps spreading the idea that marijuana decreases testosterone, but there is no current evidence to back that up aside from myth and the desire to believe it.
It’s probably true that smoking weed isn’t that bad by itself as far as lowering T levels or whatnot, but what about the lifestyle it fosters? Usually when I’m getting stoned alot I tend to drink more alcohol, sleep less at night and more in the morning, eat more crap, smoke cigarettes, and give less of a crap about health. After a few months of that lifestyle I guarantee my T, or physique isn’t where it should be.
I just got a bag though, and I’ve been taking a few tokes before lifting this week and last. The only diff I can tell is I’m more paranoid and can’t get my breath as well. I still like it though for some reason that I can’t fathom. Moderation is key here, just like anywhere I’d say.

What about the “lifestyle” getting drunk regularly fosters? I don’t drink alcohol on a regular basis and I don’t smoke. I am not against people drinking alcohol, and I may occasionally drink in social situations, but some people do make alcohol a part of their lifestyle by acting as if they can’t have fun without it. That “lifestyle” isn’t exactly healthy, but you don’t hear the protests…because it is accepted socially. I am hoping society today can think beyond “reefer madness” and begin to think for themselves. To villify any one act as if it the one act that will cause the downfall of society is just retarded, especially in relation to a substance that is relatively less harmful than alcohol. The Drug War is a waste of money in this regard. How long before everyone else realizes this?
What would they do with all that empty jail space if they let those losers out who sell dime bags?
Oh yah–fill it up with all the drunks driving around trying to kill those of us out trying to score a dime bag!
Totally agree on the lifestyle thing. If I have weed in the house I’m less motivated, period.
All of a sudden 6 meals a day becomes 4 easy to make meals and workout rest days become numerous. Leaving the house becomes more of a ‘goal for the day’ than something that happens every day. Computer games go from half an hr a day to 7 hrs a day.
This is the main reason why I’ve vowed to give up the demon weed this year. I’m old enough, I’ve had my fun. Time to knuckle down to reality, with all it’s high and lows.
I’ll miss it though, but my lungs and lifestyle are gonna thank me.
I never smoke before lifting weights though. I want all the intensity I can get, weed is not gonna help me with that.
At the end of the day, Cannibis will not positively affect your lifting (mabey in extreme situations when you want to go beoynd your normal pain threshold). It can negatively affect it by decreasing your attention (wrong form, loosing count) and sensation of pain (ie: if your form is wrong).
Therefore: it is much better suited as a recovery agent if anything.
come on sxio smoke a fatty with me. it’s the fire.
cough cough ccoouuggghhhh.sorry i cough cough cough i wanted cough cough cough what?

What do you believe is in pot that increases your pain threshold? Do you really believes it deadens your ability to feel pain? Forgetting form. Losing count?
Good Lord. We aren’t alking about dippers here. We ain’t lacing with pcb.
If you don’t even know what pot is or does, how can you then prescribe it suitable as a recovery agent.

It probably depends on how stoned you get sasquatch. I could easily lose count on reps if I was baked enough. Of course, if I was that baked i wouldn’t be keen to do anything but sit on my couch anyway.
And weed is used as a pain killer by some. So I think it might help you get out 1 or 2 extra reps in a high rep, high pain protocol.
Maybe you have a different experience with it than me though.

I understand the cancer applications, I’ve never experienced any pain relieving symptoms myself or in this protocol.
If you’re so stoned you can’t count–you are probably better off on the couch
when i get baked before i hit the iron, i find that i get in the zone more easily. it is possible that by increasing my pain threshold, i can focus more on the wieght. it’s just me and the wieght, and my prescious water. gotta fight the cotton mouth. i usually lose my high after about an hour anyways. unless it’s super duper, then i can hit for three hours and still leave high.as for after the gym, i will wait until my heart rate slows. this i think will keep allot of the toxins from flowing soo fast, i don’t want to ruin any of the gains i made. i wait an hour or so, after protein.

Dear gojira,
I applaud the use of the word female to insult men. Why? Because females are weak, emotional and have floppy boobs. Men do not want to be weak and emotional with low testosterone. Therefore, by calling a man a female you insinuate that he is weak and emotional with low testosterone. Which is a perfectly legitimate insult.
P.S. The fact that women are weak, emotional and have low T with low testosterone. has all been scientificaly proven.
P.P.S. Just because ‘female’ is an insult to a man , doesn’t mean its bad to be a female. Because its OK for females to be weak and emotional with low T. Its just like you wouldn’t like to be called ‘butch’ but I might not mind.
You’ve choosen an appropriate screen name.
The key is definetly moderation.
Cigarettes, weed and junk food will definetly not help with lifting. However, they are not as bad as someone make them out to be.
I know powerlifters who are chain smokers and eat like shit. That did not stop that person from squatting 350 kg with just a belt.
Weed will NOT lower T-level. obviously it decreases your motivation to eat well and lift. However, for someone who has his life in check, he can afford to take a few tokes every now and then.

what?
It never ceases to amaze me why the threads dealing with weed, cocaine and getting hammered on alcohol have higher viewing and posting numbers than strength sports or building a better body. I’m sure these youngsters have not yet found their true religion, or lifting is not what they really do. In any case, use little common sense. If you are a teenager or in your twenties, a little poison of any kind won’t hurt you. Cut back in your thirties, and if you’re still smoking weed in your forties, you’re looking at either lung cancer or emphysema in your fifties. Now put down the goddamned bong and get to the gym.
cough cough cough what? cough cough. we’ll i’m glad i have your approval. i can rest easy now. i smoke everyday, i work 8-12 hours and hit the gym for 1.5-2.0 hrs. if your mind is strong you can still function. it’s been over twelve years now.

What the hell are you smoking? It must be not pot. Like near beer.
