Speaking of ripping up floor, the basement is brewing to be quite the labor instensive project over the next few months. Trenching, jack hammering, cement work, dryway, etc… This on top of my 50hr a week job, job hunting, taking care of mom’s situation (selling her house, getting her into an assisted situation), kids, wife, and yes training. Still have it on the books to do October 29th meet, however my ‘major event’ for my current work project (infrastructure cutover) might happen that weekend, in which case I might not be competing.
Figure all the extra physical labor will make the training/recovering issue interesting, to say the least. Will still figure out a way to get stronger.
You can always come to Dubuque in November. There will also be strongman and arm wrestling going on as well. Pretty sure Jakked will be there from Chicago. Not sure about Franz or ZenZen.
Good luck on the basement. I lost a pretty decent home gym to a flood several years back. Had two 1/2hp sumps in the basement at the time. They couldn’t keep up. Seems the water table has been getting higher each year.

Hmmm, I might keep that as option b. Nutter is limiting the October meet to 50 people, so I have to commit soon. I think too many complaints from last October when there were like 80 people and the lifting went on until 9 at night.
sucks about the basement gym. fortunately all my furniture seems to be intact.

Hey. If you get a minute PM me an email. I can’t send PM’s on the site anymore and wanted to talk to you about something. Gracias.
Get yourself in a little trouble with the mods? sent it to you.
life is going to be very insteresting for awhile. sibling haggling over who is pulling their weight over helping sell mom’s house, getting her the care she needs, blah blah blah. I am the only one working full time, and with young kids. but am doing what I can.
plans getting outlined to jackhammer the foundation and get my basement fixed, etc. start time might be pushed off due to mom stuff.
still gonna plan on October meet, or Dubuque UPA if that falls through. hoping for something close to a pro total…
Man o man Pete, I think reading that put me into cardiac arrest…you have some capacity for work! And for your basement have you considered a trench on the outside, kind of french drain set-up? If I lived closer I would gladly lend a hand. Good luck.

I am kind of considering that as obtion b. I think the drain tile with sump is a better fix to the situation long term.
Come on Minneapolis ain’t that far from Mass, lol.

Pete, Carpenter/UPA is limiting meet to 1st 50 lifters in full power. Don’t know if there are bench only limits since that’s normally Friday night.
