Sorry to hear about your basement. Was the projectile vomiting connected?
Sometimes when it floods here the sewers can overflow and “black” water (flood water mixed with sewage) can flood into homes. It happened near here last year and the homeowners were forced to throw away all their possessions because of the contamination. Wondered if your sickness was from handling the water.
nah, water was actually clean and clear rain water. think the vomiting was more of a stress breakdown. I tend to go and go and go and go, work long days, sleep too little, train too hard, etc. I think my body finally just shut me down for a day…
sounds like there is some sunshine peeking in .
sorry to hear aobut your mom too.
flooding is a Pain in the ass- the weekend house- yes I know everytime I type that
I cringe- ( but remember we lived for 10+ years in a 380sq ft apartment)
anyway the weekend house is dry laid stone foundation and we have had the wettest summer in 100 years
I do not have a sump pump but what I do have is french drains outside - and literall tons of gravel
that help slough off water from ever getting to the house.
Push reset and start the whole week over. Naw, you’re looking at it the right way. Getting past the damage and starting to see it as a new project with some potential. Chance to throw in some man cave amenities,
Harry, it is going to be an awesome man cave when I get this shit done. And a dry one too, lol.
G, I have some pretty severe muscle imbalances from leg to leg, due to a botched knee surgery 20 years ago. I lean off to one side noticably when I squat (about one to two inches, judging by how much I need to reset the bar in the mono from set to set). I am trying to formulate a plan to retrain the gimpy quad to fire appropriately, one leg leg presses and lunges being my main thought at the time. Any input would help.

And yeah, got a wicked pump, grah, in de quadz… [/quote]
I was just had a converation about 2 weeks ago with a PLer who was rehabing a quad tear. Can’t remember which muscle and it was a small tear so no surgery. He swore by pistol squats to get his quad strength up. I just started palying with them so i have no experience but he is a guy a trust so i am going to look into it. Planning on working off a box for a while which is what he did, says now he can do a full pistol squat with a KB? Worth a try.

hmmm, if I try these will have to video for comedic relief…
Pistols? Chad Waterbury would be so proud…the guy gets some serious shit from “hardcore” lifters, but he really has some interesting ideas.
Wow Big Man, you had some heavy shit come down on you, good thing you have big shoulders. I’m predicting a big new job with an outsized raise in the future for you -the universe has to stay in balance and all that.
for the record, mowed lawn for additional gpp in 90 degree heat, shirt soaked after 45 minutes. then foam and baseball rolled most everything. hoping to actually bench in the a.m. then dedicating 8 hours to basement floor rip out, yay…
