If you havenāt already, i recommend checking out his other videos and content on social media. Hes got some other really good stuff for shoulders, knees etc that have really helped me with some ongoing injuries.
Thanks!!!
That Donnie Thomson approach is fucking magic. Better than anything Iāve ever tried.
Tried that Donnie Thompson hanging upside down stuff last night. Worked a treat, a good level of relief of my lower back pain.
Not half awkward getting into position though.
Followed up with some inversion boot hangs. That hurt my lower back more than help, but I suspect thatās an indication that there is a problem there needs fixing rather than the method being a problem.
Hey Stu, please you didnāt mention, with that dissc issues you have are you still able to lift heavy? If not so heavy to lift serious? Or u do not allowed to lift at all?
Can you tell me details about your handle for this situation did it bring problems to u stopped u from lifting or going for heavy stuff?
I mean can a person with disc issues still lift even if not so heavy?
Donnie Thompsonās approach he calls body tempering works incredibly well.
Iāve had low back pain for years. Turns out it was tight hams and tight hip flexors and messed up psoas. Using the ex wife on the posterior chain and some targeted trigger point therapy on the psoas and hips and all was made right
I really like the inversion table ( I have one) but after lots of pre-hab work I didnāt need the inversion table any more, although itās great for spinal decompression (traction)
I feel that we should clarify that the X-wife is an actual tool (check out SuperDās YouTube or IG. Heāll tell you how you can DIY one), and not a woman you were previously married to.
Hahaha, yes. Sheās a skinny thing, coming in at 110 lbs so slightly leaner than Donnieās 135 lb ex wife. LOL.
Do pull ups after every heavy pressing session. It does a lot for your back and your shoulders too!
its all relative I suppose. Even when I was competing I did everything I could to not just lift heavy for heavyās Sake. Point being, unless youāre a competitive powerlifter the goal should always be maximum muscle stimulation. That might sometimes require what most people would consider heavy weights. Other times you can be smart simply by ordering your movements in a specific manner, changing subtleties lf your performance, even substituting other movements or the frequency of how often you use said exercise.
At 45, and long done with prancing in my speedo, my goals have certainly changed, but there are days I find myself using heavier weights than I planned. Iām still crazy cautious with certain movements and have completely abandoned others. You just need to be smart, careful, and above all objective.

@The_Mighty_Stu
So with simple words discs cannot prevent you from doing anything?
Thereās nothing I got out of heavy bent barbell rows or back squats that I canāt intelligently substitute for something else or in some other approach for my current goals (which no longer entail competing with the top WNBF pros in the world -lol)

I hang on an inversion table after squats, deadlifts, and rows. Usually can also fix my neck when itās out.
Tons of good stuff, but Iāll throw this one in since it requires so little equipment and is a challenging ab exercise too.
Crunches while squeezing a foam roller (or whatever) with your feet anchored. It provides traction. I think I read about this or saw some youtube from Westside BB.
Wow sounds a little difficult and would love to try and challenge myself
Maybe Iāll search it and find the right form in utube and def give it a go!
Thank you for sharing !!
