I hve been wrestling with this for a while, that is the amount of liquid to consume with a meal. With solid food, water is the only thing I ever drink due to distaste for sodas and juices. I have read that water helps with digestion when consumed with food. However, I also have read that by virtue of dilution, your stomach acid concentration can not break food down (especially meat) as well when there are large amounts of water present. Are there any best practices with regards to timing of water cosumption and meals?
Thanks
This is majoring on the minors. You need to not worry about this, not worth it.
Check out the Gang of Five in issue 6. Page 48.
Berardi has wrote about this in a past issue of t-mag. He says that those who say water dilutes the blah blah, are full of shit. Water helps the digestion of food and absorption of nutrients, I cannot recall the specifics, but search for it…
Water can actually help with digestion, as well as washing down food. The benefits outweigh any possible dilution. Just let you body tell you when to drink when eating and you will be fine. And be sure to get a lot of water when not eating.
Just Keep drinking it…all the time
