Water Intake

I just read through an old article about the HOT-ROX transformation challenge. One of the winners said he normally drank two gallons of water a day, and during the last months/weeks he upped that to three gallons a day.

Me, I’m happy if I can get three liters, and my normal intake is about two or two and a half liters a day.

Is this enough? Or should I be aiming for much more? I’m sure I could up that intake, but it would be significantly harder to get that much, and if two liters are enough, I’d like to keep it that way.

There was a thread on water consumption not too long ago. It didn’t address your exact question, but you may want to take a look at it…

3 gallons a day? I genuinely cannot imagine drinking that much. The guys urethra must be made of elastic. (wow, okay, sorry. There’s an image I didn’t need in my head. Nevermind.)

I shoot for a gallon a day, minimum. Anything on top of that is gravy (so to speak). Even if I were dieting specifically, I’d probably only shoot for an extra half gallon or so. I just get uncomfortable pushing down too much water. In general though, more water is always more goodererer, um, better.

It’s generally safe to base your water intake on your urine. If it’s yellowish, whether you take a multivitamin or not, you need more water. Also, if you’re not draining El Lizardo Grande once an hour, you need more water.

Between the work day and the gym I get bare minimum 2 gallons. But I am also the only person I have ever seen walking around my office building with a gallon of water.

Thanks for the link, benefits like that are what motivate me to drink more, and I guess I will have to increase the intake, they sound real good.

And just a unit question, a gallon is what, like 4 liters?

Google answers all.
Yes, you’re right. 1 gallon is a little bit more than 4 liters. So, you’ve got some drinking to do.

I remember the month of July working construction in Phoenix, drinking 2-3 gallons of water and not even going to the bath room.
