Watching Smallville?

No.

Always Batman, because Superman is a fucking boyscout.

Batman is the only one who has vowed to never kill a criminal, not because the other ones would, but because he really, really wants to and it would be oh so easy and satisfying.

Batman struggles not to become the monster he lets his prey fear, Sperman struggles not to yawn when someone targets him with a bazooka.

That is why Clark Kent needs to be the main focus and NOT Superman. That is why Smallville worked. He isn’t perfect. He lies. He screws up big time. A lot of work went into it earlier on to show that Lex’s and Clark’s roles could ahve been easily reversed based completely on their parenting.

Had Clark not been raised by the Kents, he would not be “the boy scout”.

Right now on the show he doesn’t feel like he is “good” enough to be “superman”. He thinks he will hurt people or let it go to his head.

Clark’s parents are why he is the person he is. His powers don’t define him…if they tell the story right.

Especially with the casting of Lois. That little bitty thing was NOT at all appealing. I doubt they’ll cast Welling, though. I doubt he’d even go for it, to be honest. I imagine he’d want to separate from Superman after 10 years of Smallville.
Why not? I mean its not like he’s got a bunch of other movie opportunities these days… he did “the fog” and thats about it right? lol

He should do Superman… he would be way better than that other guy
I believe Tom Welling’s preference is to be behind the scenes/camera now. His production company recently came out with a series on CW called Hellcats. He has directed a number of the episodes on Smallvile (others of the cast have as well).

Also, the no tights/suit thing was not just the series motto it was Tom Welling’s. Since he has branched out he may no longer care about being typecasted anymore.

too bad. i think it would be EPIC if he were to play superman in the big movie. can you imagine the box office it would draw just on the built in fan base?

but X is right…they would have to incorporate a lot of the smallville universe if they were to do that…prolly not gonna happen. :frowning:

Mine also.

Haterz.

Superman was probably the favorite of most guys who grew up before the late 90’s. Batman didn’t start to become popular again until the 90’s because before then, that 60’s comical version of him and Robin was all people thought about aside from Superfriends.

Chances are, if you grew up on GI Joe, Thundercats, He-man and Transformers, Superman (or Spiderman) was likely your “favorite Superhero” if you had one at all.
been looking for a new title to get into…I checked out your link, that looks good as hell. gonna check that one out…thanks.

Smallville is one of my fav shows, I’ve been watching it since the very first episode. I would say this final season is pretty good…Clark does fly, but falls out of the sky when he loses focus. Lois is smoking hot and does a good job with the acting…Her body absolutely rocks.

I did not know Tom would be playing Superman in the next movie, is that true? he has the looks and the body, why the hell not?

Sorry to see the show end…

I’ve been watching for a decade now and I think this season is one of the best so far. The show has evolved so much from having a “meteor freak of the week” to what it is now. I don’t want it to end.

David S. Goyer came up with a concept to reboot the franchise that was strong enough to entice Christopher Nolan on board as a producer. Zack Snyder is apparently going to direct the movie, but it seems like it’s going to be a previously unseen take on the character.

Hopefully it won’t be as “unseen” as the aborted Superman Lives movie, which was to have been directed by Tim Burton and starred Nicholas Cage(!) as Kal-El…

Suddenly Superman Returns doesn’t look quite so bad…

the new gods, darkseid, Orion, the all father, granny goodness, new genesis, Apocalypse, that is old school dc universe, were talking jack kirby. think that that mythology is a little to well established and used in too many recent story arcs (like final crisis) to have rebooted THAT much. but i have not started season 10 yet, but what you say sounds interesting. it might play out well. I doubt they are taking it farther than Darkseid this season. I also think that if any threat would push him over the edge into that suit, this would be it.

They did show hints of a suit made like the one from the last movie but no one knows the final design.

Have you seen the new red leather jacket with the “S” on it that he wears right now before the end?

I want that fucking jacket.
I really wanted it to, even went so far as to see how. This is made by the same company that makes the clothes for the show, so it’s the original pattern, original material, and everything. You probably can afford it too. Lucky bastard. Here’s the link if you really want it.

That was bang-on target. The final season shows an alternate reality where Kal-El was found and raised by Lionel Luthor, not the Kents. The result? Ultraman.

SPOILER

So how did Clark and Slade (Deathstroke) survive the explosion at the end?

Clark said he was made of steel to Slade right when the bomb went off…and just like he’s done with Lois many times, it looks like he blocked the blast from killing him but not enough to stop him from losing his eye. At least that is what seems to be implied.

Is it just me or is this season way better than others?

Welling directed that episode and did a decent job…but if only they had a bigger budget for better special effects. The guy playing AC wasn’t quite so bad this time. When they first cast him, he was the weakest actor ever on the show. I guess he won that part on looks alone.

best season in a while, might go as far as to say best season ever

They won me by comparing Darkseid to “the mark of the beast”. They shouldn’t have waited to go this far.

I didn’t expect to see “Granny Goodness” but they actually made that character unique for the show.

But wasn’t the kryptonite surrounding him?

This season is by far the best though, I agree.

Yeah, but even when that happened he didn’t act like he does when they use more of it and it wasn’t around him for long. They stole those blue prints from Lex. Maybe they didn’t make it as strong. When he is really hit by it, it shows in green veins on his face. That didn’t happen.

Definitely a very good season, I’m glad the show is going out on a high note. Too bad there was no episode yesterday.

Ahh, I didn’t even notice that. Thanks though, that was bugging me right after the episode.

Green Arrow’s voice modulator is genius - no super-famous billionaire playboy crimefighter should leave home without one. At least if they don’t want to get caught through voice analysis technology. Yes, I’m talking to you Christian Bale Batman voice…

I enjoyed the earlier seasons (especially that dumb one with the witch-Lana), but recently, it seems too much like a Soap-Opera for my tastes, what with the focus on lots of talking about feelings and boring stuff like that, and especially the lighting.

I haven’t seen any of season 10 yet though.

Just so you know though…the best comics are nothing BUT soap operas with super powers.

Go read ANY Fantastic Four comic and tell me that isn’t all it is.

X-Men is the same. We LOVE soap operas…as long as they don’t look like soap operas and have lots of guns and large breasts. We just won’t say that out loud.
