I never claimed the article was mistranslated. I pointed out that the “institute” was not the most reliable around, but I didn’t dismiss the article on that basis alone.

Is it too much asking to be able to verify a source?

The article they claim to have translated doesn’t exist. Can I not voice my doubts about the legitimity of the whole thing? A lot of propaganda circulates on both sides, I won’t deny that. That’s when homework becomes important. We might not be able to know the truth, but one has to denounce a blatant lie when he/she sees it.

If you were you would get. Your in denial if you think people respect you.

Again:

Your: The second personal pronoun
You’re: Contraction of “You are”

Sorry Lixy, as to your third point. I’m not a homosexual. I know it’s ingrained in your world but you will not find too many potential partners on a site called T-Nation. I’ll pass. Maybe you’ll find a nice Swede to satisfy you.

I see you’re unfamiliar with figurative speech. That was mere rhetoric, lad.

As Bart would put it: Eat my shorts!
Deflect much?

Perhaps you are latent? Can you figure that out?

For the idea that he is a closet case you seem to think an awful lot about it.

Does it get lonely, being a soldier, far away from home?

How ridiculous.

Could anyone be under any illusion why the US “unsigned” the Rome statute? This is no court of justice at all - it is a political body looking to punch above its weight in the international arena.

But then, when has the Left ever given a damn about the politicization of courts?
I wish all of you assholes would stop fucking generalizing “the left” (and “the right”).

Both sides have a variety of different people, jackasses and honest men. Jesus.

Grow up. It is a useful shorthand - and it is used by people to describe themselves as part of what they call the Left.

And, back to the point - the Left most certainly has no problem politicizing courts. If you need proof, consider judicial progressivism.

Both sides have good and bad people - that wasn’t the point. The point I made referenced a specific ideological principle the Left advocates.

Yes! Why?

Nice thread… I like the whipsaw between left lunacy and right wing fear and paranoia.

Good job guys!

It’s great fun as long as not taken too seriously!

Yes but your wording suggests the right is more moral, and does not politicize the courts.

And you also imply politicizing the courts a bit is completely immoral.

You never miss a chance to blast Islam. Anyone can attest to that. But has anyone ever called you anti-Muslim, Islamophobe or anything of the sort? Not that I can recall. Yet, anybody voicing concern about US foreign policy run amock gets slammed with the “anti-American” label.

I hope you get my point.

How about we ban religion altogether and run governments according to the will and benefit of the people… not God.

(Please lord don’t strike me dead).

What if the people don’t want religion banned?

There are hardly any nuances between the two with regard to foreign policy.

Hotelling’s model, Anyone?

I’m relatively new around here. Never seen anyone call him Islamophobe (or similar) before.

I doubt God is benefiting from anything we do down here. Remember that He’s omnipotent.

But your vision sounds awfully similar to the gloomy science fiction worlds.

I don’t dislike or hate Muslims. I simply disagree with their religious premise — suspend your will and submit to Allah. This leaves some open to abuse by Radical Mullahs: “God wants you to blow up that daycare center full of Jewish children!”

I object to any system that tells you to hurt others. I object to a system that that allows children to be used for violence. I object to the belief that good can come from initiation of violence.

If that makes me Islamaphope, so be it…

Alberto Gonzales?
Zap Branigan wrote:

Maybe we should send them all to a fundamentalist country that allows them to force their views on others?

And that is why you were so stridently against the invasion of Iraq…

Spanish Judge Says Bush Could Face War Crimes Charges

One of the most prominent judges in Spain has publicly said President Bush and his Iraq war allies should face war crimes charges for their actions in Iraq. Baltasar Garzon called the war in Iraq one of the most sordid and unjustifiable episodes in recent human history. Garzon said “We should look more deeply into the possible criminal responsibility of the people who are, or were, responsible for this war and see whether there is sufficient evidence to make them answer for it.” Garzon is the investigating judge for Spain’s National Court. Garzon became famous in 1999 when he tried to extradite former Chilean dictator General Augusto Pinochet from Britain and try him for crimes against humanity.
