I made a post a few weeks ago showing how my belly looks 6 months pregnent when I let it hang. I’ve decided to stop strength training and train for looks right now. I really want to look good for the summer. I’ve put on a lot of size from where I was by doing strength training, and I’ve found a pretty good bodybuilding 4 day upper/ lower split where I’m training in the 6-8 rep range for the big movements, and 8-10 for assistance and 10-12 for other assistance. My tanita scale is still telling me I have 29% body fat and I’m 6’4 223 right now.
Based on the pictures I’ve attached, should I keep looking to build muscle on a surplus, or go on a long cut to lean out first then start a slight surplus to stay somewhat lean while building muscle. I want to have a 6 pack by the summer with nice shoulders and chest development. My diet is very clean, with very lean proteins from chicken breast, fish, cottage cheese mainly, good fats from fish oil, flax seed oil, nuts, and carbs from sweet potatoes, post workout glucose drinks, veggies, a little fruit, salad.
I dont look as big as I feel in these pictures so I’m a little confused as to what direction I need to be going in. Also I plan to play basketball one or 2 days a week for fun and to burn off some fat.

Dude, no, just no.
For some reason you keep making threads with no intention of following the advice you are given. Go back to any of the 3 threads you have made before this one and take the advice.
I am sure you won’t but thought I would try…

No, you gained some bodyweight. You haven’t “put on a lot of size” in terms of muscularity.
In May 2011, you said you said “My 300 dollar tanita scale is telling me my fat is 26% and right now I weigh 206.” That’s about 54 pounds of fat.
Today, you “have 29% body fat and I’m … 223 right now.” That’s about 65 pounds of fat.
That is not “putting on a lot of size” in a positive way.
Wanna know how I know you’re not going to have a six-pack by this summer?
Because you start a lot of new threads asking pretty much the same questions, you get a bunch of good advice, and you simply don’t follow through.
By all means, seriously please prove me wrong in the next 12 weeks, but based on your history, it doesn’t look good unless you make some major changes (and I don’t mean to your training or diet. I mean to your mindset).

There is no way your 29% bodyfat. While your not super lean with a 6 pack. your hardly fat. id say more 15-20% bodyfat.
To be fair, he is nowhere near 29% body fat. That is pretty much obese. It would also mean less than 160lbs for lean body mass and that height, it would mean near anorexic levels of muscle mass…and he isn’t that far gone.
But one this IS clear…this guy doesn’t listen…so these threads are a waste of time.

Listen to Chris, man. Looked over your past threads and he (and many others) gave you some very good advice that works/will work if you actually put the necessary work in…
If you’re looking for a 3-day quick-fix shortcut workout/diet plan that’ll turn your flabby body into Arnold’s monster frame at his peak then GTFO
If you’re a troll (and I actually think you are b/c you apparently keep opening threads asking the same questions) go to the next best porn site and beat off to what you see there. Would be much more “normal” if you did that instead of geting off of these fake threads…
