Just hit a triple at 560 on deadlift, followed by a 570 triple, both huge PRs. Peak/taper has begun, 2 more heavy sessions and then deload. Heaviest triple I ever did before this deadlift program was 525, so 570 is pretty massive especially after a set with 560.
Physique update as well (getting close to my all time heaviest weight, although I am becoming a little too fat)
(Just realized I’ve been training for 4 years and 9months, which is crazy to think about)
Program finished,got a 50lbs deadlift PR, pulled 610,620,635,and 650. Old max was 600.
Hitting huge PRs in training on deadlift, pulled a 525x5 PR first set, upped to 545 for 5, and last set was 555 for 5. Aiming for a 675+ pull this program.
Was just planning a single on squats and some triples at 435 today to test out new ErgoPro Inzer sleeves, and hit a 30lbs PR at like rpe 9 with 530lbs. This is mid program, fatigued, and not used to the new sleeves. Once I finish program and finish peaking phase/ taper, probably a 545lbs squat, and about a 675lbs deadlift is possible.
Pulled 675lbs today, 20lbs PR. Have 3.5 years left as a junior, starting to think 800 might be possible someday even.
Got sick after the 675 deadlift PR, was out of the gym for 5 days, lost about 4lbs. Decided to return to the gym today, wanted to see how much strength I lost from the sickness and not squatting for 2 weeks. Hit an unplanned 20lbs Squat Pr with 550lbs. Now I’m thinking of doing a mini-taper with deload and attempting 560 in
1-2 weeks once I gain my water weight back and recover fully from being sick.
Starting to think 700 might be possible before the end of the year on deadlift. Just pulled 590x5, 600x5, 610x5, and 620x5, every set a PR. Have 9 more sessions until I can attempt a new 1RM
If I pull 700 before January, that would end up being 135lbs added to deadlift in a year which is the most progress I’ve made in a single year so far.
Pulled 675 for 2, 685 for 2, 700 for 2 today. All sets strapped PRs, 700 is the heaviest I’ve ever pulled. This was my final peaking session, now I deload and max next week, hoping for a 690 raw pull, have a torn thumb which might be very hard if the skin doesn’t heal in a week.
Finished my programs and was able to test all my lifts this week, unfortunately thumb tore very bad on the deadlift warmups, so I had to use straps, pulled 705 strapped with calibrated plates, but can’t count it because of straps. 2 days later I got a 25lbs bench PR of 390lbs, and yesterday squatted 570 which is 20lbs added. If I include the strapped pull, I’ve added about 285lbs to my gym total this year. Goal for 2023 is a 1800 gym total, 625 squat, 415 bench, and 760 deadlift. Been thinking of trying out gear lately, might wait 7 months till I’m 21.
So I’ve hit my bench and squat goals for 2023.
Squat went from 570-655 in 6 months (goal was 625 for 2023)
Bench press has gone from 390-415 in 6 months (goal was 415 for 2023)
Only deadlift remains, will be attempting 700 raw on Sunday. Deadlift has been limited by hookgrip this year, I can probably do around 750 with straps, but thumb kept tearing so my best raw pull is still only 690.
Haven’t been on here in a while, couple updates to log, some cool PRs I’ve hit these last couple weeks.
315x10 bench (wanted this forever)
600x5 squat
Deadlifted 595 for 9 for a couple sets.
By the end of the program want to hit 685/430/725
Not sure if hookgrip will hold so the 725 deadlift is 50/50, thumb has been tearing for a while now.
